How important is the real part of our lives to answer arguments on a platform like HIVE?

It's a question I've been asking myself for a few days following all the commotion that has been unleashed in the @proofofbrain community with the exchange of posts and comments between users @lucylin and @regenerette, something that ended up involving much of the community as both are very active users and the community is also not so numerous at the moment.

Who is right or wrong is beside the point, although I left my personal opinion at that time in a comment. What interests me more, in this case, is a part of one of @regenerette's comments and that has been the trigger of my questioning. The part of the comment is this.

I have 5 months of going in and out of hospitals, I can barely stay in my ass to write an article and use my fingers, doctors say paralysis is close. I have a person putting on my underwear, my socks, my clothes and cooking and washing my body....I have almost 40 years...why should I be called names just like last time when I wasn't able to stay up more and answer his offensive behavior?

I don't want to put the whole comment here as it is too long but, being honest, I can sum it up in simple ad hominem arguments against @lucylin that didn't really answer anything and things like that. Well, my point is that she brings up for the moment in that comment her real world problem, in this case an illness that keeps her in and out of hospitals, close to paralysis and with people helping her with all the household stuff. I don't question this at all, it's not the reason for this post but .... Does all this make it impossible for @regenerette to write a response to an argument in HIVE?

Definitely not and that can be seen in the amount of posts and comments she writes on a daily basis.

So much has been the "commitment" she has shown to the community that she has even received a POB Power delegation from @proofofbrain. So, back to my initial question and the one that has left me thinking these days for some time. How important is the real part of our lives to answer arguments on a platform like HIVE?

Or maybe I should change the question a bit and say, does the real part of our lives matter as much when answering arguments in HIVE as it does, for example, in a controlled and centralized social platform like Facebook?

We all know what happens on Facebook, the "poor me" style used for others to feel sorry for you and the snowflakes who can't/won't respond to criticism is a common occurrence. I would even go so far as to say that those types of users are one of the reasons why many of us gave up on traditional social networks and are using HIVE. In traditional social networks, for example, as soon as someone pulls the "poor me" card (real or not) they automatically almost have "won the fight" without the need to actually respond with valid arguments.

It definitely doesn't work the same way in HIVE.

Here, in general, the brain is used more than the heart to write and discuss about something. And I mean that in every sense, from the figurative to the literal sense. (See I say "in general" and not "always", I have also witnessed downvote wars for illogical reasons sadly).

And this does not mean that you are not allowed to write, for example, about some illness or problem you have in your life. I have several friends, some who are no longer among the living, who wrote on Steemit about their illness as a way of relief from daily stresses. But they did not do it to get pity and thus win arguments or to receive more rewards (some do but, as far as I know, this is not the case).

In HIVE (and I clarify that I speak of HIVE to integrate all communities) voting is not only a way to say that you like something, you are also giving a monetary reward to the user you vote for, unlike traditional social networks. Understanding this makes people think before they vote for something. Call it a psychological effect, greed or whatever but definitely here we are not like in other social networks where you freely give "likes" without thinking left and right. In HIVE you think before you vote. (unless you are a bot or your vote is automated).

HIVE blockchain users and their communities do not work like users of traditional social networks in this sense and in many others.

Here if you can write a post you can definitely write a comment. And if your comment doesn't answer arguments but with it you just try to shield yourself from answering by using a problem of the real part of your life that is not really relevant (something that as I said is usually done in traditional social networks) people will usually notice it and will react against it.

My conclusion is that the real part of our lives has no relevance to answer arguments on HIVE!

And what do you think?

To @regenerette

Maybe you need to learn a bit more about the differences between HIVE and traditional social networks.... You have been using the HIVE blockchain for less than two months from what you have said and besides, you are an "expert" in traditional Social Networks and it shows in your behavior. Perhaps if you know a little about the technical and economic aspects, you can understand that here, for example, you are looking for quality, not so much quantity?

And definitely something you need to also learn is that blockchain is an open book. I don't question what everyone does with their money but? If the commitment to the community is so strong? Why do you need a delegation from @proofofbrain having you almost double the amount in liquid POB in the wallet? Everyone has their private needs to cover and I'm not arguing that but I put my money where my mouth is. For example, all the POB I earn I power it up. I understand that it is better for everyone because I know how the technical and economic part of HIVE and especially POB works. Maybe you need it to be able to live, I don't know and it is not my reason to argue about it (I know that many here really need it). A little tip, if you power up the almost two thousand liquid POBs you have, you will receive a lot more in curing with almost 4000 POB Power (counting the delegation you already have). Right now you are basically losing money.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but rather as a call to reflect and learn. A secret, I am 43 years old and I am still learning and I hope to never stop learning, hopefully, until I die.

30% from the rewards of this post are going to @pob-fund

Edited to correct some grammatical errors. There are surely many more and I apologize for that.
