Earth's new mini moon.

Could the earth capture one of these asteroids that pass nearby and turn it into a new moon, the answer is yes, although they are usually temporary moons since they can end up escaping the earth's gravitational attraction or they can end up hitting the moon or impacting the earth .

In any case, it would be similar to or even smaller than the Chelyabinsk Bolide in 2013 and surely its impact would be on the ocean, since the oceans cover three quarters of the Earth's surface, so experts are not worried about the fact that this mini Moon ends up impacting the earth.
The chances are slim and also in the long term, because at the moment what is known is that this mini moon came close to Earth in 1981, in 2022 and it will not come close to us again until 2051, so the risk is minimal and even if there was a risk, I believe that by 2051 we would already have a planetary defense plan in case we discover that it is a real danger.
