Would they also nag about the price of a bread?

Surprising once again

The last few weeks have once again been surprising. And not so very positive! I've seriously gotten my reservations about everyone's humanity in general. I often hear around me that nobody seems to be right… and just as often I had my doubts about that. That hasn't changed, but what has changed is my idea of how people feel about each other. And where the feeling of humanity has gone in this society where everything is increasingly about survival. Sometimes in the sense of problems you just can't seem to overcome, and sometimes it seems like a literal survival. A real Struggle for Life.

It appeared too expensive

As I recently wrote, I made that quote for shooting the wedding, and believe me, I've been thinking a long time about what to charge. But in the end decided to really say, Don't sell myself short! And I came up with the price of 1200 euros. That is not even extremely expensive. Anyway, what I half expected when the answer was long delayed, the assignment is canceled! Unfortunately… too bad! But what shocked me most was the way I was informed that it was canceled.

How did i dare

I was addressed as if I had committed a crime! How on earth did I dare to ask such a high amount, and whether I realized they just had to work for it for a month. And that they understood that a professional photographer was asking a lot of money, because he has to pay taxes, but me? It was very disappointing and I remember a lot more. The entire conversation consisted of accusations and accusations.

Do you whine about the price of bread too?

Now I was brought up nicely, and I always try to control myself, so even then. But I have made it clear that this is not correct. That I have not even asked an extremely expensive price and whether they realize at all that I also have to work for this for a month. Because photographing a wedding is more than just pressing the button a few times. A luxury leather album in cache also costs me a lot of money and I really will not pay for that myself. And then editing the photos just takes me a month of my time. Whether they even wanted to realize that. Then I made the comparison that they probably did not complain to the car dealer about the price when they bought a brand new car, that they are also not going to ask the baker how the hell he gets it in his head at 2.50 euros. to ask for a loaf of bread, and that a professional photographer does not pay more tax than what I have to do when I take on that assignment, because listen just as well, dear people… I can't do that black either. Well, long story short… Humanity was hard to find here, and the end of the song is just that in the end I'm HAPPY that it's not going to happen. Because I think if it had continued, I would have ended up with a lot more misery than pleasure.

Happy ending, close the book… next story!

A new adventure

Glad we live quietly anyway! Because let's face it… this picture looks delicious! And now that the strange neighbor has been imprisoned for six years, peace has completely returned. We said that to the landlord yesterday afternoon when he came to visit us for another reason. And we really meant it! At that point… Not knowing that we would be rolled into another adventure just a few hours later.

But that story… I'll tell that in a next blog!
