Captain Kidd is the first one to regain consciousness, and the first thing he does is to check the integrity of the ship. When he saw that all was good, he turned around to see how his crew mates were doing: All are still out but all breathing. He tried to wake them up but with no success, so he decided to unstrap himself and walk over to them. But the moment he tries to get up he hit the roof of the ship. It's not like there is no gravity but the opposite: he is being attracted by something outside of the ship.
