My take on people farming POB tokens – What if we called it "free" marketing ?

Ok all of this is just my opinion, I am not an expert on anything!

So there have been some great blogs (which I can't find now damn!) on people feelings on HIVE members just adding POB to farm some tokens. While I understand some people frustrations at what is seen as “abusing” the system I want to offer a different perspective.

First let's talk about noise.cash, I know a lot of people from HIVE are on it but for those who are not it’s a micro-blog site which hands out free tips in bitcoin cash to bloggers and they can use it to tip people content, keeping some for themselves. Now I could not originally work out the business model, there is no adverting on the site, no metadata being mined and yet they are handing out a lot of money.

Now they could be just trying to build a new site and that I most likely an aim, however a user on the site suggested what if it was about raising awareness of bitcoin cash? What if it was to get people used to handling small amount of bitcoin cash, using it and setting up wallets? An elaborate marketing ploy to raise general awareness and the price by some big big whales sitting on bitcoin cash.

Now the above is all conjecture but bitcoin cash has done this and yes it could just by the bull market we are in, but it bit it didn’t hurt

Ok back to people farming POB tokens byadding it every post. What if we viewed it in the same way? What if we see it as a “free” marketing tool for POB to help get it established and raise awareness.

These are only my own opinions on some advantages

  1. Every so often someone who adds a POB tag gets a few POB tokens and starts to look more into the community
  2. Someone else sees a POB tag and wants to learn more and stays around.
  3. People start selling their POB tokens and adds liquidity to the market, this also counteracts huge ramp up in prices and big crashes
  4. People write blogs on how they made x HIVE from selling POB, which generates more interest, some of which ill stick with the community.

So I am not saying we don’t eventually tighten up what we want POB to be for, but in the same we it was decided it was to early to start burning tokens, maybe its to early to start excluding people, what if we let it spread for awhile more and once we get established we can codify what and how we want it to be sued for and when downvotes are needed. Again I’m not saying upvote bad content, but may lets just let it go to the keeper?
