The first two turns — and then, the trinity

In the first turn of the spiral
I witness souls unravel;
I try to speak but utter not
a sound, not e'en a single
word pours from broken lips,
through syllable's eclipse
I float through wordless maelstrom
that shatters human ships —
those fleshly carnal vessels
survive not hellish wrestles
with spacetime and the undergrid
that mortars and that pestles
relentless and resistless;
baleful and persistent
old engine of destruction
on decimation bent.

On second turn I start to see
duality divide in three
and ghastly paradoxes roam
amongst their own locality.

I swore that I was flesh and bone
by every new endeavor shown
a solid thing of truth:
I prayed to never lose —
myself though now I see my life I loaned
and all those beings who bemoaned
our markèd difference of sense
were mistranslations ill-intoned,
were words of languages corrupt
and lost and scattered by decay;
and ever life anew, erupt
from lowly, waiting day
where turns the trinity.
