Decentralized Backend with Many Centralized Fronts

Hi all,

Being better off today than in the past doesn't mean there isn't a lot of room to improve our future.

I was reading an interesting comment on Leofinance about someone asking to use the Leo app so google will consider Leo as the content source. From that comment I realized that while Hive is a decentralized backend, in the front we are dealing with several different centralized organizations, that in some ways cooperate but in other ways play against each other.

Well I not here to analyze weather its benefitial or not. I do think its interesting to think of a decentralized frontend.

How can we create a decentralized front?

Lets think of some technical issues that will help us build the pazzel.

Well someone needs to own the domain right?
How do we solve this?
This can be solved by creating a DAO that holds a domain in a decentralized web like zeronet.

This DAO is also the solution to decide on adds policy.

There are 3 things we are going to insist on in our platforms

1 - open source
2 - decentralized
3 - transparent

Blockchain enables us to get 2 and 3. On 1 we must insist.

Lets take LinkedIn for example. We all use it to attract great people to our great companies. But how LinkedIn algorithm works if we are a business rival? We can't say for sure.

We understand the power of decentralization when we notice the potential abuse of centralization.

Breaking Google or facebook to small companies is silly. It won't affect anything.

You want to make a real impact as regulators? Demand to open source the algorithms.

Its too late for regulators maybe to really fight organizations like google or facebook which knows all about the politicians and their electors.

But its early enough for the DAO - decentralized autonomous organizations to bring an alternative.

The technology is here and it can unlock great deal of value. We aint seen nothing yet.
