CLEAN-UP DRIVE ACTIVITY IN OUR COMMUNITY🍃🌴

Konbanwa, min'nasan! 💚💚How's everyone doing? Please do take time to read this blog of mine and I hope, that all of you will enjoy it. It's been 6 days since I posted my last blog.😅 I was busy this week due to some church, community, and school activities. So today, I want to share our day during the clean-up drive in our community. Enjoy reading!!

It started with a meeting for all officers (I am currently in the position of Treasurer). We discussed our opinions on what activities would be done with youths the next day. We listed youth's names and we also tackled our action plan for the next 5 months. We unanimously agreed to incorporate a community clean-up effort with youth participation.

The day after, we started our clean-up drive activity. We first waited for the other youths to arrive before starting the activity. The plan was to clean all the trash and segregate them well. Fun fact, the plan was 7:00 am, yet we started at 9:00. We're Filipinos anyway lol.

We then started cleaning all the trash. We were all disgusted by it because some sacks have maggots😭 I wish the owners could just segregate it by themselves. It was so hot, but still proceeded with the activity. We segregated all of them and it took us for hours. It was exhausting but fun at the same time.

We had snacks after that. A few of our friends' mothers donated money for snacks and they also donated 10 sachets of juices for us to drink. We were thankful because some of us hadn't had our breakfast yet. Some drank coffee and ate bread only, it's a Filipino culture. Trust me, it's not enough haha.

All of the boys then had their teamwork to carry that big thing, I bet it was heavy because they kept on taking a break.

A few minutes later, it rained so we looked for a shelter and immediately decided that it would be better if we would cook something for lunch. We were having a hard time choosing what to cook lol. I went home after that but eventually returned there to help them finish things.

When I got there, the food was ready and we all worked together to prepare the food and the juices. The food looks yummy but I didn't eat. I was full at the moment. It was such a warm feeling for a rainy day to see them enjoying their food. We were blessed!

After eating, we then continued doing our work. At this time, we were transferring all of the white soil. Others saw us working and decided to help(it's their exercise as well). The elders and other youths lend us a helping hand to make it more quick. We were grateful.

This was part of the finished work. Despite the weather, our community's youth remain determined and committed to finishing it in one day. Leadership like this is greatly appreciated. For being able to be engaged and express opinions on what is going on in our surroundings.

Even though the day was exhausting and the weather was bad, we continued to work. Working with our elders and fellow teenagers has been an excellent approach to begin communicating and connecting. Remember that every difficult day is an opportunity to grow stronger and develop better relationships. Let us continue to strive forward and support one another.
