I've finally got this painting finished the other week. This painting features the Rees Valley in southern New Zealand. This is such an epic view and I have painted it en plein air a few times as well.
I painted this art work on a 30" x 40" Belgian linen stretcher. I am always striving to make my paintings look alive and vibrant as well as organic and natural and so I have held back a little on the detail and focused more on using looser more gestural brush work.
