Definitely Cebu #7: Arterra Bayfront Residences at Discovery Bay

Hello Hiveians/Hivers!

This quarantine made me miss my colleagues at work. No matter how hectic your day at work is, when you're with your colleagues, work seems to be lighter. That's of course if you're in good terms with each other. One of the best ways to have teamwork is to go out with the team and have fun. The team had an island hopping last March, but I was not able to go with them because of prior commitments.

It's summer already here in the Philippines and I should have been in the beach or climbing mountains. After this quarantine, I will really devote my a large portion of my money to travel. This is one of the promises I made to myself. In the mean time, let me share one of the team buildings we had that I haven't shared yet. This was when we went to Arterra Residences.

Panoramic Sea Vista

Arterra Bayfront Residences is a relatively new condotel that's located at the northern tip of Mactan Island. When you traverse Punta Engano Road, Lapu-Lapu City, this will be the last establishment in that area. It's a relatively new real estate and I think developments are still ongoing. In the coming years, I bet that the area will become one of the sought after places to relax and unwind especially during summer.

What I like about the whole place is that it has a commanding view of Camotes Sea. Since it's in the tip of a strip of Mactan Island, a well-established diving destination, it offers a panoramic sea view. The place is really strategic since it is in the same strip where most of the world-class hotels are located. Since it's also in the same island as the Mactan-Cebu International Airport, it's just about 12 kilometer away and relatively free from traffic.

Maybe they will develop the area further, but one of the downsides (just a minor one) is that the shore is rocky and not suited for swimming. This is because it is located on a coral-rich area with big waves crashing the cliff so a beach couldn't form. You don't have to worry though since they have a big swimming pool that has benches on the side that are good for sunbathing.

Reception Area

The reception area was chic and modern. My friends / colleagues couldn't help but have their photo taken in that spot. It was not too big. Just fit for a few people to have a rest while waiting for their transactions to be completed.

You don't have to worry though because it's immediately connected to the lobby.

Lobby

Their lobby is spacious and still provides a view of the swimming pool area and the sea. This is also where the Arbistro Bar is located. If you don't want to be exposed to the sun and wanted to relax, the lobby is a good place to stay. They have food and drinks available for you to choose from.

Swimming Pool Area

This is where most of the activities are located. We arranged to have a tent in one of areas beside the pool.

In the afternoon, they have zumba class in the pool. My colleagues were really enjoying their time as they followed the quirky but elaborate steps of the instructor.

While some were so busy swimming, we never missed to have some photoshoot.

The swimming pool area is a great place to relax and have some cold drinks especially during the afternoon when the sun is blocked by the building itself. You can have a guitar and then play your favorite tune or just plain socializing is good enough.

They have rooms available for overnight stay and rates depend on the type that you want. The good thing is that the rooms are all showcasing sea view. From the 5th floor above, there are condo units available for sale.

I guess that's all for this post. Just be informed that they're temporarily closed this time due to COVID-19.
