Definitely Cebu #10: Plantation Bay Resort and Spa

Hello Hiveians!

Given my current financial status, I'm I won't be able to check in one of the most expensive resorts here in Cebu. It's not that I can't afford (or I can't really afford); it's just that I have other priorities. I would rather go to a less known tourist destination than splurge on an over the top but super expensive resort. But once in a while, there are opportunities that you can't miss.

Colonial-style architecture of Plantation Bay. Photo taken at dusk before we went home. More photos below.

We were presented with such opportunity when our Executive Manager would have to go back to Japan. As we organized to have a farewell party, it was decided to be in Plantation Bay. He didn't want a "cheap" venue and he would shoulder most of the expenses. All we needed was to pay a fraction of the day use rate of the resort.

So, the reason why I was able to visit one of the most luxurious resorts in Cebu was because of a farewell party. Let me share the experience.

PLANTATION BAY RESORT AND SPA
Colonial-Style Architecture Resort with One of the World's Largest Privately-Owned Lagoon

Plantation Bay has one of the largest privately-owned lagoon in the world. As shown in the left is the satellite image of the resort from Google Maps. The lagoon is on the left side of the photo which is next to the Giant Pool. I think it's one of the largest resort here in Cebu.

The classy and elegant resort is located in Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. Room rates vary from Php 7,000++ to Php 44,000++ depending on the type that you want to avail. As for us, it's just for day use.

We rented that gazebo to have our activities. We were less than 30 so it's just enough space to have a program.

Before we had our program, we tried to tour around the whole resort. They have a bicycle available for tourists. The resort was really huge. The giant pool in the middle of the resort compliments well with the plantation architecture which gives off a very summer vibe. I love the shades of green, blue, and white which dominated the whole resort.

They can organize team building activities so we availed the amazing race. It was also another way to tour around the whole resort. They have wall climbing, archery, billiards and entertainment room, golf, tennis courts, and fitness center.

There's a walkway going to the middle of the giant pool which could serve as a shortcut to the other side of the resort. On the east side was the beach facing Hilutungan Channel and Olango Reef Flat.

After the amazing race, we had buffet lunch in one of the four restaurants of the resort: Kilimanjaro Kafe. The other three are Palermo Café Bar, Savannah Grill, and Fiji Restaurant, which offer a varied range of cuisines depending on your dining preferences.

Lunch at Kilimanjaro Kafe.

In the afternoon was more of informal socials and swimming in the pool. More photos:

Before we went home, we stayed a little longer while waiting for the free shuttle from the resort to the airport. We noticed that the vibe of the resort was really different at dusk. I loved the colors. Staying the resort for a night would have been epic.

The interiors of the reception area also exudes a different vibe at night, very much different than during the day.

I guess that's all for this post. See you in the next one!
