Every person has an adventurous dream in their ordinary life especially when they are young, well I had this type of dream too. Two years ago I planned to set out on a journey with my best friend Elsa.
We planned to go to the northern side of the country where there are so many charming, beautiful, breathtaking nature to explore.
We were living the best time of our lives. It was February 5th, 2019, we started our journey on heavy bikes early in the morning because the weather was so wonderful that we cant wait to start our journey.
The wind smells like a messenger carrying the scent of young blood(smilie),
it seems like it is evoking us to discover new paths in life. After six hours of constant biking, we decided to take a rest for a moment.
There was a beautiful cafe near the forest Elsa said'' let's have a cup of tea here''. So we decided to spend one hour there.
Time flies when you're having fun(personification). an only half hour an hour was left everything was going smoothly until a silly idea popped up in my mind. I told Elsa ''I want to take pictures of the lovely yellow woods on the other side of the highway''.
So I went into the dark forest in order to take beautiful pictures of the yellow woods.
The forest was enchanting me, the scent of forest and soil was enveloping me. Apart from the trees and dead woods, there were several multicolor flowers and wild grass in the forest too. while I was exploring the forest, I forgot about how damp and dark it can be,
I was taking pictures with my DSLR camera. I noticed lightning in the sky. The thunder was grumbling in the distance(Personification).
The clouds were covering the whole sky. I tried to escape from there but in the nick of time, I realized that I am in big trouble(realizing I was lost into the woods)--->(parentheses). there was a deafening silence in the darkness of the forest(oxymoron) that makes my heart crumble.
I roamed around worrying, my body was trembling because I knew I was lost. Constantly, I was walking, and little did I know I was strolling around in circles.
My feet were getting heavier and my body starting to numb because I never expected myself to be lost in the dark woods.
Minute by minute,(alliteration) the time was passing like a flowing river. I walked around the forest, trying to find a way out. It felt like I had been walking forever, my legs felt like jelly(personification+simile) and I had no energy left. As I took a step, noises came out of nowhere, creepy and eerie noises were engulfing me,
I was terrified and anxious. I was devastated and doomed because of the heavy rain.
Now I knew ''I had to walk to the ends of the Earth to find a way out''(hyperbole). While I pondered, weak and weary(alliteration ) I looked up in the sky praying to God ''save me''. I was shouting for help again and again(alliteration) but nobody was answering I was in despair.
After three elongated hours had passed, my eyes witness a haunted old cottage. I found shelter there, I stayed for a night there because I was not able to escape that horrible rainstorm.
The cottage was very small and cozy, with the use of my camera battery I lit up a fire to keep myself warm because I was drained in the rain for almost three hours. The steam was coming out of my clothes. I was feeling warm and cold(juxtaposition). While encountering such an experience I was thinking about my friend Elsa who was left alone there on the highway.
It was the worst day of my life, that I could never forget. In the middle of the night, I heard so many wild noises. The dead leaves crackled on the ground.
The heavy rain whooshed through the woods. I felt the slither of the snakes among the leaves. I heard the distinct awoooo of the wolves howling at night. I was going insane, I was constantly blaming myself for making that decision. In the meantime, I don't know how I got a wink of sleep.
The next morning, the only question in my mind was running wildly, what if I can't escape this horrible forest full of insects and animals, what if I was eaten by a beast or animal? (morose/rhetorical question) The rain was finally stopped, I encouraged myself and took another route.
At that time I was motivating myself because I knew that '' I can do it''.After one hour of trekking, I sat down suddenly and saw something. It was the sound of my friend Elsa she was shouting and calling out my name loudly. I was happy and grateful that she found me.
It was the once in a lifetime experience for me, I don't want that same incident to happen to me ever again.
