Era un sábado por la mañana bastante normal, tenía planeado pasar todo el día en pijama y adelantar algunos trabajos de la universidad. El día anterior, una de mis amigas más cercanas me había comentado que estaría de visita en la ciudad (ya que vive en las afueras), sin embargo, el comentario no pasó de allí.
It was a fairly normal Saturday morning, I had planned to spend the whole day in my pyjamas and get some university work done. The day before, one of my closest friends had told me that she would be visiting the city (as she lives in the suburbs), however, the comment didn't go any further than that.
Cuando llegó a la ciudad me avisó que estaba en un centro comercial que queda a unos 10 minutos de mi casa y me preguntó si quería acompañarla y comer helado, al principio yo no estaba muy segura porque ya tenía todo planeado para mi día, y la verdad es que también me daba un poco de flojera tener que arreglarme, ya que suelo tardar un poco.🙈
When she arrived in the city she told me that she was in a shopping centre about 10 minutes from my house and asked me if I wanted to join her and eat ice cream, at first I wasn't sure because I already had everything planned for my day, and the truth is that I was also a bit lazy to have to get ready, as it usually takes me a while.🙈
Le pregunté a mi abuela qué le parecía y me animó para que fuera, no lo pensé dos veces y le confirmé a mi amiga que en un rato estaría allá para acompañarla. Luego de vestirme mi abuela me llevó, mi amiga estaba con su tía, a quien yo había conocido una semana atrás gracias a una pijamada que organizamos.
I asked my grandmother what she thought and she encouraged me to go, I didn't think twice and confirmed to my friend that I would be there in a little while to accompany her. After getting dressed my grandmother took me, my friend was with her aunt, whom I had met a week before thanks to a sleepover we had organised.
Nos saludamos con mucho cariño e iniciamos nuestro recorrido por el sitio, ellas llevaban un rato en el centro comercial y ya habían comprado unas cosas, entre ellas había algo que me llamó bastante la atención y era un peluche en forma de aguacate que tenía una cobija por dentro, tengan esto presente ya que nos guiará hacia algo más adelante.
We greeted each other warmly and began our tour of the place, they had been in the shopping centre for a while and had already bought a few things, among them there was something that caught my attention and it was a stuffed animal in the shape of an avocado with a blanket inside, keep this in mind as it will lead us to something later on.
En una de las tantas tiendas a las que entramos había algo que capturó nuestra atención inmediatamente: una cabina telefónica. Al igual que yo, mi amiga es fan de One Direction, y esa decoración nos recordó a la portada de su segundo álbum. No exagero al decirles que estuvimos aproximadamente media hora tomando fotos, luego nos dimos cuenta que la temática que la nueva colección de ropa en la tienda era Londres, allí aumentó nuestra emoción. In one of the many shops we entered, there was something that immediately caught our attention: a phone box. Like me, my friend is a One Direction fan, and that decoration reminded us of the cover of their second album. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that we spent about half an hour taking pictures, then we realised that the theme of the new clothing collection in the shop was London, and that's where our excitement grew. After filling the photo gallery we continued our tour.🇬🇧
Nos dirigimos hacia la feria, ya que esperábamos al tío de mi amiga. Cuando estábamos todos reunidos, nosotras decidimos ir al parque de atracciones que queda en el centro comercial mientras los demás almorzaban, era algo que no estaba en nuestros planes pero valió la pena. Las dos pudimos recordar cuando éramos niñas y visitábamos el lugar para subirnos a todas las atracciones.🎠🎢
We headed towards the fair, as we were waiting for my friend's uncle. When we were all together, we decided to go to the amusement park in the shopping centre while the others had lunch, it was something that was not in our plans but it was worth it. We were both able to remember when we were kids and visited the place and went on all the rides.🎠🎢
Después de un buen rato allí nos reencontramos con los demás para comprar el tan esperado helado. Elegimos los sabores y nos sentamos a disfrutar, pasó otro rato y llegó el momento de despedirnos, ya mi amiga y sus tíos debían regresar a su casa. En ese momento, mientras caminábamos por los pasillos una última vez, entró una llamada a mi teléfono, y mientras yo me alejé un poco para hablar mi amiga tuvo una conversación rápida con sus tíos.
After a while we met up with the others to buy the long awaited ice cream. We chose the flavours and sat down to enjoy it, another while passed and it was time to say goodbye, as my friend and her uncles had to go home. At that moment, as we walked down the aisles one last time, a call came in on my phone, and as I stepped away to talk my friend had a quick conversation with her aunt and uncle.
En esta pequeña reunión llegaron a un acuerdo, y era que querían hacerme un regalo por mi cumpleaños, que era el día lunes. Mi amiga sin decirme nada me dijo que la acompañara, me estaba guiando a una tienda bastante interesante, aquí es donde entra el peluche de aguacate del que les hablé al principio.🥑
In this small meeting they came to an agreement, and that was that they wanted to give me a present for my birthday, which was on Monday.
