Backyard Football

Greetings, friends! Today I want to share my impressions of an unexpected encounter with street art. To begin with, I want to outline the place. Imagine an apartment building built in the late 19th century. You walk in from the street through a back alley and into the first courtyard. This courtyard is usually quite spacious and bright. Then you go further into the second courtyard, which is smaller and darker. In the second courtyard were stables, barns, it was a dwelling for the poor people. From the second courtyard you can go to the third courtyard. It's a narrow strip of space in front of the blank wall that encloses the lot. I met the football in just such a third yard. From the title picture you can roughly estimate the distance to the wall, it is less than two meters.

I have outlined the disposition in such detail to explain why I consider this encounter in art to be unexpected. That ball flying into the wall and that player in the white-and-blue uniform are few to be seen. It is very rare for passersby to get into the far back yards.

The color of the uniform helps us determine that this is a player from the club Zenit. Zenit is a football club from St. Petersburg, this club plays in the Premier League. Our city is very fond of Zenit, many people cheer for this club. On match days you can meet fans with white and blue flags and hear them chanting the chant "Zenit is the champion". The third picture shows Zenit Arena stadium. It is a new stadium, built three years ago.
