Tasty Pani Puri in Lock Down

With no outside foods advised, I thought, we would try the Pani Puri at home.

We are in the Lock down for long time and a change was a must to have , so I tried some new recipe at home ଗୁପ୍ ଚୁପ୍ ( Gupchup) in my native language Odia - which is very popular in India in the name of Pani puri or Golgappa.

Usually we are not allowed to eat Golgappa outside - only some times we are allowed if its available in some marriage ceremonies. So I tried this at home today. I had to search for the recipe and I got a Odia version in Youtube. I had to prepare the atta dough for long time to make it very very soft, and then we made the small sized Golgappa and kept it in a wet towel, so that it does not become dry. Then Mom helped with the fry to get the great looking delicious Golgappas.

To prepare the stuffing, we had the yellow mutter and potato cooked in a pressure cooker, and we just had to crush them, add onion, salt, fried Jeera (Cumin) powder, Coriander Powder. If you want to make it spicy, then you can add Chilly powder.

And the water was prepared using Jaljeera powder, Cumin Powder, fresh Mint leave grinded with chilly ( small quantity).

And after all was ready, a stall was opened at home.

My sister was my first customer and waiting for it - but I could not resist and gave it a try first.

It was a lot of fun preparing all this and it was so delicious that every one ended up eating a lot of them. Especially Papa (@sanjeevm) who never eats Golgappa, ended up eating around 25 of them - and asking for more 😀 - he always prevents us eating it outside saying it's not hygienic 😜
