Mi paso por Pacaraima

My visit to Pacaraima

In order to cross to Brazil we had to go through many crossings that I will tell you in another post, when we arrived in Pacaraima I say we arrived because we were 5 people we were waiting for some acquaintances and relatives who had a month there we rested and then we managed to go out to know a little about Pacaraima we went to a court where many people do dance therapy and in front there was an ice cream parlor to which we went.

The next day we went very early to the tent or shelter to get all our documents. When we arrived we were amazed at the amount of Venezuelans that were in that place, thank God we were able to get a number to speed up the process of documents.

We entered the tent and they put a bracelet on us to distinguish or identify the process we were doing in the rooms since they are distributed by rooms, we filled out some personal information, they asked us some health questions, it was time for lunch and they gave us incredible food, juice and fruit. Then we were vaccinated (In this part I felt nervous because I did not know how many vaccines I was going to get) well I tell you that they gave me 3 because in Venezuela at the beginning of the year I had been given one, after the nurse injected me she told me: "You are very brave, God's daughters are very brave " and at the same time she was telling me this phrase she put a bracelet as a gift (she thought I was a girl hahaha or I do not know if it was my nervous face) then the next step was to listen to a talk where they teach you the benefits that Venezuelans have when they ask for refuge or temporary residence and when the talk was over we went to get our entry permit stamped by the federal police and we finished for that day the first process which was to get the entry permit and we went to rest at the residence where we were staying.

When we returned the next day to the tent we were going to finish the process of documents in that step we took most of the day since there were many people to obtain the residence. When we got to the room they took a photo for the ID card and the fingerprints of the ten fingers they gave us a voucher or draft of the ID card to be able to move in Brazil until the original ID card arrived in two months.

Although this process in Pacaraima was not so difficult for us, for some people it is difficult because they arrive in this country asking to be admitted to the shelters and these shelters are collapsed so they have to sleep in the streets until they can get a place and in Pacaraima it is very cold during the day and at night.
