Gulab Jamun- our absolute favorite dessert. You will hardly find any Bangali who doesn't love Gulam Jamun. This is the first time I made it all by myself. And I'm pretty happy with the result.
In this lockdown, if you are looking for some dessert to bless your sweet tooth then it can be a perfect dish. There are several ways to make Gulab Jamun. Like with curd, flour ie. But I have made it with semolina. I saw a recipe on YouTube and thought to give it a try!
So I'm sharing how I made it in detail!
What we need?
- Semolina 1 cup
- Milk 1/2 liter
- Sugar 1 cup
- Cardamon, cloves, saffron
- Water
- vegetable oil
- One tablespoon of butter/ghe
How we can make it?
Take 1 cup of semolina. Lightly fry it with butter.
Add half a liter pasteurized full cream milk and a tablespoon of sugar.
Mix it well and make a dough.
Rest the dough for half an hour.
Make mini balls.
Heat the pan with vegetable oil and deep fry the balls.
Fry it well until the golden color.
Remove it from oil and give it time to cool down.
Now we are going to make the sugar syrup.
Put one cup of sugar with one and a half cups of water. Put one cardamon, one clove, and a pinch of saffron. Heat it until the sugar melts.
Make a medium-thick syrup.
Put the Gulab Jamun balls in the syrup and let it sit for two hours.
This is how it will look like. Enjoy!
I would love to enter the Qurator's: Hive Top Chef! | BREAKFAST! contest. Though it's not a perfect recipe for breakfast. But we love to enjoy this gulab jamun with our local bakery item called 'Bakorkhani'; which is similar to Hardtack or bread Biscuit.
I hope you will also love the flavor of Gulab Jamun. Bless your tooth with this good dessert.
Stay safe everyone!
THANKS FOR YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT!
