'Kachki Fish' Curry with Vegetables | Flavors from Traditional Bangladeshi Cuisine!

What can be better than Local food?

Today I'm gonna share with you our very traditional healthy local fish curry recipe!

Bangladesh got many local sweet water fishes that you may not find anywhere in the world. They taste very good and full of nutrition. The cleaning process is a little difficult but the cooking process is very easy. It's good to go dish with steamed rice.

So, let's see how to prepare it!

What we need?

  • Kachki Fish 250gm
  • Potato, tomato, green chili, onion slices
  • You can add any other vegetables also if you want
  • Coriander and mix spice powder (optional but enhance the flavor)
  • Slat, turmeric powder, vegetable oil, and water.

How we can prepare this curry?

Step one

Wash the fish gently but properly so they break out.

Step Two

Keep the fishes aside and prepare the vegetables.

I took all the vegetable slices altogether except the coriander which I will add later.

Step Three

Add other ingredients proportionally/as per your taste. Add oil and mix it with a hand or a spoon gently so that the fish don't become soggy.

Step Four

Put the lid on and cook it for 15 minutes on medium heat. You can add a small amount of water if you want the curry. But don't add too much water.

Step Five

Add the coriander and mix spice powder. Remove it from the pan and it's ready to serve.

It's done. Now you can have it with rice or the way you like to enjoy this curry. This curry is very flavourful, spicy yet nutritious. It's good to go with rice, and as you may know, rice is our major meal so we love to enjoy this curry from time to time.
