HivePowerBday - What Hive means to me

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HIVE - 3 WONDERFUL YEARS WITH YOU

With my daughter Eden

With my son Lee

June 6 - 2017 my son Jack invited me to join Hive (then known as Steem) and I can honestly say that blogging on this program changed my life.

Much in the same way as we wonder what we ever did without cellphones, I cannot imagine my life without Hive

Six years ago I wrote my first blog for Steemit,

5 years ago - age 67 -I did my first online trade and wrote a blog about it

Over that period of time I had so much fun, joining competitions for photography - for recipes and joining my daughter @edenmichelle to share her singing and producing talents.

I even hosted my own Christmas Carol competition which was a lot of fun and a lot of work.

Hive has an incredible story to tell and right now are in the process of producing a film about the History and beginnings of HIVE

During my time on Hive - along with @offoodandart we started our own cooking competition called """Cook With Us***. - this was a rip-roaring success and we had so much fun - and I can't begin to tell you how much I miss all the wonderful chefs we met along the way.

How can one sum up so many years of pure joy that Hive has brought into my life.

Most of my blogs were about my life's experiences and my three wonderful adult children @deimus @leelektrik and @edenmichelle

In July 2020, I introduced a new friend to Hive. Olga (@olgavita) rented a room from me in Cyprus and I told her to join Hive. She was very reluctant and said she was a retiring school teacher and had nothing to write about.

Now two years later she is heavily involved in a community Reflection Hunters - and after teaching her for a while - she ended up teaching me. The pupil became the teacher. Now retired, she also believes that Hive has changed her life.

I'm writing this blog from a hospital bed having undergone a Hernia op a week ago - and on very strong antibiotics but I feel I have only touched the surface of what I could write about what Hive has done for me and for the many wonderful friends I have met along the way.

So excited that my daughter is meeting @apshamilton this week. What a joy to meet fellow Hiveans.

My son also met @offoodandart's son in Thailand and that was so good too.

Can't wait to share further adventures with you.
