Good morning everyone,

This beautiful morning I present to you my latest work. It is a lovely kaftan design with some embroidery on it.

The fabric used is called daviva guinea and I added an embroidery to make it more beautiful. Its very simple, you can also try following the process below.

MATERIALS USED

  • Fabric (daviva guinea)
  • Collar stay
  • Paper stay
  • Thread

CUTTING PROCESS

The first thing I did was to get the measurements. After getting measurements I proceeded to cutting of the fabric.

I folded the material half way to take measurement getting the front.

Firstly I measured the neck, then the shoulder, shourder rest which is always 2 inches and at that point i measured the arm hole depending on how big the person is, now the chest adding sewing allowance and length adding allowances too and after cutting out you discover the back extending the upper part and lower part of the shoulder 3 and 2.5 inches respectively. Then the sleeve and back landing.

SEWING PROCESS

I started my sewing with embroidery, then folded the allowances added to the length and sew, thereafter i joined the back and back landing.
