Just look at that blue sky! We dont see that very often here in Michigan! The temperature swings are in full effect. Was near 50 last night. Basically blanket weather if you leave the windows open, which I am fond of doing.. Now during the day it is over 90 and windy. The weather is just like the world: crazy anymore!
Look at all the female cones on this evergreen. As a kid, I sure dont remember seeing so many vines as I see now. They just cheat their way rightt up to the peaks of the trees anymore. Its crazy.
Isnt this a beauty of a blue spruce! That vivid blue pops from a mile away! Here I am comparing it a normal evergreen.
So lets get on with the sex talk, shall we, lest I am accused of being a clickbaiter lol! So did you know a pine has both male and female parts, well cones actually, pinecones. You can see in both these trees the majority of the cones are at the top of the tree. The female cones are found near the tops of the trees and the males are at the bottom. This prevents the males from pollenating the female cones of the same tree.
