So today I and my friend, @maverieux000 decided to take our very first train trip. This is the first working train in my state that I know.
So we took an Uber to the train station located at yaba where we bought our train ticket. The standard ticket is set at 2500 naira (roughly $5). There is also the economy and first-class tickets which are set at a higher price.
The railway project is still ongoing in various parts of Nigeria. The Chinese government is very involved in Africa in terms of building infrastructure. This is one of the many Chinese projects in Nigeria.
The train is well air-conditioned with proper sitting arrangement. I am pretty impressed. However, I am weary of the poor maintenance culture in Nigeria. There is a high probability that these trains would not be properly maintained over time, which will be sad given that they are huge capital investments that are financed to debt.
Anyway, I am on my way to Ibadan.
