Recuerdo tener tan solo 10 años cuando mi padre de repente me llamó para que viera un programa que había descargado para mi en la laptop, "virtual dj" se llamaba aquel programa que me atraparía y me daría la entrada para descubrir mi vocación (y no!, mi vocación no es ser dj).
I remember being only 10 years old when my father suddenly called me to see a program that he had downloaded for me on the laptop, "virtual dj" was called that program that would catch me and give me the entrance to discover my vocation (and not!, my vocation is not to be a dj).
Toda mi vida desde muy pequeño me vi involucrado con la música, cantaba y recibía clases en corales desde 3er grado de primaria junto con mis hermanas, participaba en festivales de música folklórica y pasaba gran parte de mi tiempo en primaria representando a mi colegio en concursos de canto (ya sea con la coral o individualmente), o en actos culturales. Gracias a ello mi infancia fue demasiado genial jaja, era salir casi todos los fines de semana a presentarse en alguna tarima y obviamente bromear durante el viaje que era lo más divertido de todo.
All my life from a very young age I was involved with music, I sang and received choral classes from the 3rd grade of primary school together with my sisters, I participated in folk music festivals and spent much of my time in primary school representing my school in competitions singing (either with the choir or individually), or in cultural events. Thanks to that my childhood was too great haha, it was going out almost every weekend to perform on a stage and obviously joking during the trip which was the most fun of all.
A la edad de 9 años mis padres deciden mudarnos por razones de seguridad a una ciudad nueva, a esa edad yo era un niño abrumado porque a cualquier lugar donde llegaba pedían que cantara (como lo hacen con cualquier niño que cuando sabe hacer algo le piden que lo repita en frente de cualquier persona que no lo haya visto), y a pesar de que me gustaba cantar y presentarme, realmente no deseaba hacerlo en cualquier lugar donde llegará, como la mayoría de los niños me daba "pena" y bueno esa presión a veces me hacía querer dejar todo eso de la música.
Y así lo hice! Al mudarme quise aplicar la ley de "ciudad nueva, vida nueva", quería dejar de ser "el niño que canta". Así que nunca le comente eso a las personas que iba conociendo.
At the age of 9 my parents decided to move to a new city for security reasons, at that age I was an overwhelmed child because wherever I went they asked me to sing (as they do with any child who when he knows how to do something they ask him to repeat it in front of anyone who has not seen it), and although I liked to sing and introduce myself, I really did not want to do it wherever it will arrive, as most children gave me "pity" and well that pressure sometimes it made me want to give up all that music stuff.
So I did it! When I moved I wanted to apply the law of "new city, new life", I wanted to stop being "the boy who sings." So never comment that to people you meet.
Perdí muchas oportunidades en ese lapso de tiempo de rebeldía con la música como la de entrar a un conservatorio a estudiar música (de lo cual me arrepiento enormemente). Mi padre al ver ese cambio en mi quiso rescatar ese amor por la música que siempre he tenido (es acá a donde llegamos a la historia del software): me llamó por mi nombre "Efrain" (yes, ¡hola hivers! Así me llamo), y me dijo algo como "descargue este programa para que juegues un rato"...
Para los que no estén familiarizados con el programa "virtual dj", pues es un software que emula una consola de dj, muy intuitivo y gentil al uso, con un par de días ya aprendes a usarlo.
I lost many opportunities in that period of time of rebellion with music, such as entering a conservatory to study music (which I regret greatly). My father, seeing that change in me, wanted to rescue that love for music that I have always had (this is where we come to the history of software): he called me by my name "Efrain" (yes, hello hivers! ), and he said something like "download this program to play for a while" ...
For those who are not familiar with the "virtual dj" program, it is a software that emulates a dj console, very intuitive and gentle to use, with a couple of days you can already learn to use it.
Y fue así como me envicie y encontré uno de mis amores en la vida el "EDM" que significa "Electronic Dance Music" , fue ella quien reenganchó mi amor y pasión por la música, comencé a mezclarla día y noche, tocando en algunas fiestas de amigos soñando con llegar a tocar en grandes festivales de música electrónica. Me sumergí realmente en la cultura dance y es allí donde con mis conocimientos de música dije "HEY YO PUEDO HACER MÚSICA ELECTRÓNICA Y SER UN DJ FAMOSO, HACERLA DEBE SER SÚPER FÁCIL"... y efectivamente no fue para nada fácil jajaja, la parte relativamente menos complicada es la de hacer las melodías y armonías, pero para mi sorpresa el producir música electrónica de calidad (y cualquier tipo de genero musical) conlleva un montón de técnicas de ingeniería de sonido de las cuales no tenía la menor idea. No tenía idea de que era un compresor, expander, ecualizador, una compuerta de ruido, un analizador de espectro, un excitador de armónicos, no sabía ni siquiera la diferencia entre "audio y sonido" (y no my friend, no son lo mismo)... Y un sin fin de herramientas más que usan los ingenieros de sonido.
And that's how I got addicted and found one of my loves in life, "EDM" which means "Electronic Dance Music", it was she who re-enlisted my love and passion for music, I started mixing it day and night, playing at some parties of friends dreaming of getting to play big electronic music festivals. I really immersed myself in dance culture and that's where with my knowledge of music I said "HEY I CAN MAKE ELECTRONIC MUSIC AND BE A FAMOUS DJ, DOING IT MUST BE SUPER EASY" ... and it was actually not easy at all hahaha, the part It is relatively less complicated to make the melodies and harmonies, but to my surprise producing quality electronic music (and any kind of music genre) involves a lot of sound engineering techniques that I had no idea about. I had no idea that it was a compressor, expander, equalizer, a noise gate, a spectrum analyzer, a harmonic exciter, I didn't even know the difference between "audio and sound" (and not my friend, they are not the same ) ... And a host of other tools used by sound engineers.
Es en ese punto de mi vida donde ya con 16 años apunto de graduarme de bachiller ya sabía que quería estudiar como carrera, quería estudiar ingeniería de sonido (en ese momento para poder ser dj famoso, pensamiento que la carrera me cambiaría)
Tuve que fastidiar por mucho tiempo a mis padres, ser muy intenso y preparar un par de presentaciones informativas para que comprendieran que era un ingeniero de sonido, y me ayudaran a estudiar la que hoy es mi pasión.
Porque como podrás imaginar, cuando le comentas a alguien que estás estudiando ingeniería de sonido dicen ¿inge what? Con una cara de confusión muy graciosa jajaja ya que en mi país Venezuela no es muy común y conocida esa carrera.
It is at that point in my life where, when I was 16 years old, I was about to graduate from high school, I already knew that I wanted to study as a career, I wanted to study sound engineering (at that time to be a famous DJ, I thought that the career would change me).
I had to annoy my parents for a long time, be very intense and prepare a couple of informative presentations so that they would understand that I was a sound engineer, and help me study what is my passion today.
Because as you can imagine, when you tell someone that you are studying sound engineering they say inge what? With a very funny face of confusion hahaha since in my country Venezuela is not very common and known that race.
Y es acá donde por fin me presento oficialmente: Un placer hive mi nombre es Efrain pero llámenme Nerd.
And this is where I finally officially introduce myself: A pleasure to hive my name is Efrain but call me Nerd.
Tengo 21 años, soy un apasionado por la musica, toco el piano, estudio ingeniería de sonido y producción musical, soy un chico de Fe (católica), me encantan los documentales, el mundo del emprendimiento, conversar por largas horas de todo tipo de cosas… En hive encuentro una plataforma perfecta para subir mi contenido, mi forma de percibir y entender la música, informar a las personas sobre esta carrera no tan conocida como lo es la ing. De sonido y ¿por qué no? Para mostrarles mi música, la "nerd music" :) que nunca he publicado porque quería estar seguro de que sonara a un nivel "aceptable" para las personas que deseen escucharme y es así que a mis 4 años de comenzar a estudiar y siento que es hora de publicar mi contenido (aunque aún me falta mucho por aprender).
Respeto y trabajo con absolutamente todos los géneros musicales, pienso que cada género tiene cosas las cuales apreciar y de las cuales aprender.
I am 21 years old, I am passionate about music, I play the piano, I study sound engineering and music production, I am a boy of Faith (Catholic), I love documentaries, the world of entrepreneurship, talking for long hours about all kinds of things… In hive I find a perfect platform to upload my content, my way of perceiving and understanding music, informing people about this not-so-well-known career such as ing. Sound and why not? To show you my music, the "nerd music" :) that I have never published because I wanted to be sure that it sounded at an "acceptable" level for people who want to listen to me and it is so after 4 years of starting to study and I feel that it's time to publish my content (although I still have a lot to learn).
I respect and work with absolutely all musical genres, I think that each genre has things to appreciate and learn from.
