After many episodes and a popularity rating that has only increased for more than a decade, Monster Hunter has definitely entered the pantheon of the most important franchises in the history of Capcom. The Japanese publisher is now relying heavily on its monster hunting game series following recent successes of Monster Hunter World episodes on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and Monster Hunter Rise on Nintendo Switch. It is the latter that hosts the latest news of the franchise, with a collaboration that should appeal to fans of Capcom.

The Switch exclusive will soon receive the honors of a collaboration with Okami , the cult title from Clover Studios.

Pimp my Palamute

Let it be clear, this will not be a hunt for Amaterasu, the wolf-god protagonist of Okami . Any ideas of blasphemous poaching that may remain must be shelved: this collaboration, scheduled to begin on July 30, will allow the Hunters to unlock special armor for their canine companions Palamute.
This armor will allow the Palamute to take on the identity of Amaterasu with a concern for precision: from the clouds on the back to the white coat with red stripes, the attention to detail given to this outfit commands respect. The most that does everything: once ridden, the Palamute will leave flowers in the wake of its race in order to stick as closely as possible to the 2006 game ...

Another clarification: it is indeed an armor for purely cosmetic purposes and will not grant any bonus or ability to the companion. This armor will be offered as a reward during event quests whose nature we still do not know at the moment: patience will be required until next Friday, therefore.

This is neither the first nor the last collaboration between Monster Hunter Rise and Capcom. The first allowed players to unlock an outfit for Palico from the Monster Hunter Stories 2 spin-off . Three other collaborations have been announced: one for August, the other two for next fall. Capcom has still not communicated details about the games affected by these new collaborations, or the expected items.
