Ya sé que he hablado mucho de la vida de los músicos en cuarentena, pero es inevitable debido al cambio tan drástico que hemos estado viviendo los que pertenecemos a este medio, y por eso a veces tengo mucho que contar.
I know I have talked a lot about musicians' life in lockdown, but this is inevitable due to the drastic change that those who belong to this environment have been going through, and this is why I have a lot to tell.
Antes nuestro trabajo era sobre el escenario y nuestras clases en un salón lleno de personas, pero ahora hay que buscar otra forma de darle difusión a nuestro trabajo, y es por eso que se volvió cotidiano tener que grabarnos para exponernos y que nuestro público sean nuestros seguidores en las redes sociales.
Before, our job was on stage and our classes in a classroom full of people, but now we must look for other way of spreading our work, and for this reason recording became so normal to exhibit ourselves, and our audience is our followers on social media.
Pero hay ciertas incomodidades a las que no me acostumbro, y tener vecinos ruidosos es una. De hecho, tengo semanas intentando grabar algo que tiene que sonar limpio, y no lo he logrado porque en el lugar en el que vivo no hay manera de deshacerse del ruido externo. Ya sé que puede parecer una exageración, pero todos mis vecinos no hablan, sino gritan todo el día dentro de sus casas, si necesitan llamar a otro vecino le gritan por la ventana en lugar de llamarlo por teléfono, ponen música a todo volumen desde muy temprano, incluso a veces los domingos muy temprano, y eso para mí es muy molesto. Aquí una muestra de eso:
But there are certain discomforts I have not gotten used to, and having nosing neighbors is one. Actually, I have many weeks trying to record something that needs to sound clean and I have not been able to do it because there is no way to get rid of external noise where I live. I know it seems exaggerated, but all my neighbors do not talk but yell the whole day inside their homes, if they need to call other neighbor they call this yelling out the window instead of calling by phone, they play loud music very early, even on sundays, and for me that is very annoying. Here there is a proof:
¿Por qué estaba tan molesta? Pues tenía todo el día intentando grabar y fue imposible.
Why was I so upset? Well I had all day trying to record and it was impossible.
Esta es una realidad que muchos músicos estamos viviendo trabajando desde casa, así que si alguno de ustedes es ese tipo de vecino, me gustaría invitarlos a concientizar sobre esto, nunca sabes si tienes un vecino músico que necesite grabarse para vivir, porque es su trabajo y no tiene más opción debido al confinamiento, así que dejar de comunicarse por ventanas no le haría daño a nadie, y escuchar tu música para ti mismo tampoco, no hay necesidad de que todo el edificio o la urbanización escuche también.
This is a reality that many musicians are living by working from home, so if any of you are that kind of neighbor I would like you invite you to raise awareness about this, because you never know if you have a neighbor who needs to record itself to live because it has no other choice due to the lockdown, so stop communicating by yelling out of windows would not hurt anyone, and listening to your music to yourself either, the whole building or urbanization does not need to listen too.
