A few days ago my sister had her birthday, we celebrated it as a family, since due to the pandemic we were unable to share with friends and other family members.
Hace poco días mi hermana estuvo de cumpleaños, lo celebramos en familia, ya que por el tema pandemia no pudimos compartir con los amigos y demás familiares.
It had been a while since I did not make a full-blown cake, since in the last two years in March there have always been events that prevented it. In 2019 we had problems with blackouts and in 2020, precisely, in March they declared a radical quarantine in my country.
Tenía tiempo que no hacía una torta a todo dar, puesto que en los últimos dos años en marzo siempre han habido sucesos que lo impedían. En el 2019 tuvimos los problemas con los apagones y en el 2020, justamente, en marzo declaran cuarentena radical en mi país.
So this year he said he was celebrating his birthday. So we started asking him about the reason for his cake. As she is a fan of cactus, she was determined to make a cake with these prickly cactus, it didn't seem like a very good idea to me, I couldn't imagine a pretty cactus cake.
Así que, en este año dijo que celebraba su cumpleaños. Entonces, comenzamos a preguntarle acerca del motivo de su torta. Como es fanática de los cactus, estaba empeñada en hacer una torta con estos espinosos cactus, a mi no parecía muy buena idea, no me imaginaba una torta de cactus bonita.

Al final, como no logramos convencerla para que cambiara el motivo de la torta y gracias a Dios mi prima es una excelente repostera nos pusimos a trabajar en la elaboración de las tortas.

Las tortas eran de chocolate con crema de menta, una cuadrada y la otra más pequeña que tenía forma de maceta, la cual fue cubierta con masa de fondan y en la parte de arriba tenía crema y chispas de chocolate. La torta cuadrada estaba cubierta con crema de mantequilla y chispas de chocolates
We made the round cactus with cupcakes, the prickly pear was a cookie all covered with green fondan dough and we placed drops of white chocolate like thorns.
Elaboramos los cactus redondos con ponquesitos, la tuna era una galleta toda cubierta con masa de fondan verde y colocamos gotas de chocolate blanco como espinas.
Finally we assembled the cakes and to complement it we placed some decorated cupcakes covered with butter cream around it and it was really beautiful. Of course, the topper with the cactius and the Alpaca could not be missing.
Por ultimo ensamblamos las tortas y para complementarla le colocamos unos ponquesitos decorados cubiertos con crema de mantequilla alrededor y quedó realmente hermosa. Por supuesto no podía faltar el topper con los cactus y la Alpaca.
She is happy with her cake and others is telling her that the pot and the cactus were eaten by herself.
