Gem #375 - A quiet conscience sleeps in thunder

AI image.

For one to have a conscience, is for the individual to intimately comprehend the inherent differences between the principles of right and wrong; not merely the possession of a few commonly agreed upon concepts, tangential to our heart strings. It is a deeply personal understanding gifted to those with a truly compassionate heart; and thus greatly misunderstood to all without one. It is the directional compass pointing towards leading a fulfilling existence; it’s true beauty only understood by those blessed to carry it. Recognized by the ability to not only relate to a given circumstance.. but also to acknowledge the moral course of action in light of the same.

It’s this perception, which may as a result thereof, weigh heavily on the mind of someone – openly devouring the blessing in the process. For to not act upon the feeling, is to allow it to gnaw at us internally; a trail of emotional destruction left behind. To retain this most intrinsically beautiful privilege, is to allow ones conscience to rest; that is to lead a good life and do what is right. Even though doing what’s right, is not always the easy thing to do.. for those endowed with a conscience, it’s in fact the only choice to make. When life’s interference's, however, prevent the thoughtful from being their true self, deep reflection is without a doubt prerequisite in knowing peace going forward.

Precisely which aspects this introspection touches upon, of course varies greatly. The recognition of prior mistakes made, allows for the the possibility to avoid similar situations going forward – either by prevention or potential solution. Miscalculations may be made, but earnestly regretting them, allows for a level of self forgiveness to take place. Sure (morally speaking), doing everything possible may be tiresome.. but the peace we find at the end of the road, will allow for a better nights sleep; for a still conscience is not made restless, even in the most thunderous circumstances.

Till next time,
