A few years ago, I was fortunate enough to visit Wellington and experience the beauty of watching the sunrise over Lambton Harbour. As our bus from Taupo arrived at Wellington Station at around 6 am in the morning and by that time we luckily hit the most beautiful moment of the day when the sun just rose up from the horizon. The sunburst through the skyline and painted everything in dazzling reds, oranges, and other colors. It was such an amazing sight that I almost forgot about how cold it was!
Watching the sunrise at the seaport is a special experience. The sound of the waves crashing against the rocks and seagulls soaring in the sky can be heard as you watch the horizon crystallize into a blinding pink and orange ball. It is a moment of serenity and beauty.
When the sun rose over the harbour, it's the time that the world starts to come alive. The silence which was only interrupted by the sound of seagulls and the occasional bus gets replaced with honking and sirens as more cars enter into traffic.
