¡Somos Kevin y David, y estás a punto de leer nuestro blog conjunto: Kev And Dave!

Una de las cosas más bonitas de una amistad es descubrir que puedes hacer cosas buenas, cosas que aporten, con tus amigos.

¿Alguna vez te ha pasado? Sientes que de repente viene una idea o, el retoño de una, que está a punto de caramelo pero aún le falta algo. Le falta una especie de sazón que no identificas.
Y en un chat de WhatsApp, pues, se lo comentas a uno de tus amigos y él o ella te da justo la pieza que falta.

Es allí cuando nos damos cuenta del verdadero potencial del dicho: “dos mentes piensan más que una”.

A nosotros en particular nos pasó gracias a una serie animada llamada “Avatar, La Leyenda de Aang”. Esta serie que comenzó a ver uno de nosotros, y que el otro ya había visto completa más de una vez, nos llevó a ese punto en el que hablas por dos horas seguidas con mucha energía. Desde los personajes, principales y secundarios, las distintas tramas de cada episodio y cómo cada uno aportaba al viaje de los personajes que, siendo niños, enfrentan la tristeza, la alegría, la desilusión, el reto de hacer algo más de ellos mismos.
Y nos hallamos hablando de la vida y sus cosas a raíz de eso, ¡ja,ja,ja!

Es por eso que, habiendo uno de los dos conocido a Hive por una buena amiga, decidimos que debe haber otras personas que piensen como nosotros. Y que nos encantaría escribir sobre cómo las películas y las series, nos describen, nos narran, nos conmueven y nos hacen reflexionar.

De eso va este blog :)

KEV (Kevin)

¡Hola, hola! Mi nombre es Kevin. ¡Qué gusto tenerte aquí! Gracias por venir a Kev And Dave.

Para comenzar, diré que el verbo “presentar” viene del latín praesens que quiere decir que “se está delante de algo o alguien, en frente de una situación”.

¿Estamos pantalla a pantalla o cara a cara?

Creo que espacios como Hive permiten vernos tú a tú de manera multidimensional. Porque, sí creo que todos tenemos muchas dimensiones. Sobre mí puedo contarte que hoy, tengo 19 años, vivo en Caracas, Venezuela y estoy muy emocionado de estar acá. He escrito canciones, poemas, artículos, en fin; muchas letras en papel y en mis teléfonos, pero que alguien lea lo que escribo… eso es otra cosa.

Me encanta todo lo que tiene que ver con comunicarse y conversar. Soy fan de la lectura, los idiomas, de estudiar y aprender, de arriesgarse y probar. Todas esas cosas me ponen a latir fuerte el corazón. Hacen que la piel se me erice a veces y mi sonrisa salga a trotar.

He de aclarar que la música es lo que más disfruto y amo. Desde los 12 años, amo darla, recibirla y hacerla. Sé tocar la guitarra, el cuatro y se me da bastante bien la percusión y algo de canto. Actualmente estoy estudiando teoría y solfeo, aunque va algo lento por la pandemia.

Y muy, muy de cerca le sigue el cine, el cual nos reúne aquí hoy. Mi pasión por este último es apenas desde los 16, pero es fuerte e intensa. Comencé a estudiar en un canal de televisión pero lo tuve que pausar por ahora. Aun así, cada vez que veo una película, cortometraje o serie me invade la necesidad de abordarlos desde el punto de vista técnico.

A veces me encantaría formar parte del equipo de producción, ¡cómo lo disfrutaría! Porque definitivamente el cine para mí es una aventura. Es poder contarle al espectador, bajo tu mirada, tu percepción y tu contexto, el mundo que quieres transmitir. Las historias son parte de nosotros desde que nacemos. Desde que lloramos por primera vez, se escribe una historia en particular que muchos quizá pueden contar, pero que es nuestra. Y el cine como recurso narrativo, como arte, me parece que defiende eso: el gran poder creativo que tenemos para contar historias. Y de cómo trascienden el tiempo, nuestras ideas e incluso a nosotros mismos. Sea cual sea el género del que hablemos: cine documental, de acción, ciencia ficción, animación, etc., hay una verdad que está latente. El cine es poderoso, muy poderoso. Porque puede llegar a los más hondo del corazón.

Quiero que Hive sea para mí un espacio para hablar de eso: cómo todo lo que tiene imagen, audio, video y una historia, puede a través de una pantalla hacernos reír, llorar, cantar, bailar y más importante aún, pensar.

Y eso es lo que nos reúne aquí hoy, gracias a @ambarvegas que me comentó de la familia HIVE.

DAVE (David)

¡Hola HIVERS! Mi nombre es David, tengo 30 años y vivo en Caracas, Venezuela. Siempre me he considerado una persona tímida. Sin embargo, las redes sociales me han dado la oportunidad de ir compartiendo aspectos de mi vida poco a poco y sentirme bien al respecto. Recientemente, Kevin me comentó de HIVE, y pensamos en compartir algunas cosas que nos gustan a los dos. Quisiera comenzar esta presentación hablándoles de tres elementos que me han marcado:

La educación: desde que tenía 14 años pude notar que me gustaba ayudar a mis compañeros a entender las cosas, y empoderarse desde el conocimiento. Recuerdo que algunos me pedían que estudiáramos juntos para sus exposiciones, y yo me daba cuenta que podían aprender con más facilidad lo que yo les explicaba. Creo firmemente que la educación es indispensable para transformar el mundo y que enseñar algo es siempre una gran oportunidad para aprender.

La Filosofía, por otro lado, es la libertad de dejarse llevar por la curiosidad. Hacerse preguntas difíciles pero necesarias. En mi experiencia, el pensamiento filosófico me ayuda a quitarle etiquetas al mundo, y conectarme con otros de manera más real y cercana. La Filosofía me acompaña desde muy joven, cuando me hacía preguntas a las cuales no le pude encontrar respuesta. Siento que esas inquietudes me motivan a vivir despierto, y me gustaría que desde HIVE podamos intercambiar ideas y crecer juntos.

Por último: hace casi dos años que practico yoga. Llegó a mi vida en el momento justo, y me ayudó a encontrar un camino de bienestar y conocimiento propio que no había explorado antes. No sólo mejora mis condiciones físicas, sino también mi relación con las demás personas, con el ambiente y con la vida en general. Es muy exigente, contrario a lo que mucha gente piensa, y es muy divertido también. Veo gente mayor que yo sana, alegre y jovial, gracias a la práctica constante de yoga.

Estas tres dimensiones de mi vida están presentes constantemente. Cuando estoy viendo alguna película, serie o incluso escuchando música me doy cuenta que analizo y reflexiono sobre los pensamientos de los personajes, las situaciones que atraviesan, o tal vez un poco más allá: ¿por qué el director decidió que esto sucediera así? ¿qué significado tiene este objeto presente en la escena? y otras preguntas similares.

Por otro lado, me encanta intercambiar opiniones con amigos y conocidos sobre los programas que nos gusta ver, conocer sus ideas sobre el final de temporada de una serie, o alguna película que acaba de salir, o quizás uno de esos clásicos que no habíamos visto (porque a todos se nos escapa siempre alguno). Creo que esto es un punto de partida muy divertido para poder conocer a los demás y aprender nuevas formas de ver las cosas. Quiero tener este tipo de conversaciones con la comunidad de Hivers.

KEV AND DAVE

Si tuviéramos que describir a @kevanddave diríamos que: creemos en la importancia de aprender cosas nuevas cada día, somos un par de apasionados por el lenguaje, valoramos el diálogo respetuoso porque nos enriquece, nos gustan los chistes malos, y vemos la amistad como un tesoro invaluable. Somos dedicados, nos gusta que las cosas queden bien.

Nos anima mucho la idea de formar parte de la comunidad HIVE.
Pensamos que Internet está lleno de oportunidades para hacer amistades verdaderas y conectar con gente interesante. Queremos hablar de nuestras perspectivas (individuales y compartidas) que viajan en nuestros chats de WhatsApp y Telegram, sobre lo que vemos en películas y series.

Aparte de ser muy divertido, lo consideramos una oportunidad para compartir nuestras visiones sobre los mundos y dimensiones que se desenvuelven en las pantallas de todos, todos los días.
Finalmente, queremos agradecer a @rutablockchain, @bluemist y nuevamente a @ambarvegas por promover estos espacios y brindar todo su apoyo a la comunidad de HIVERS.

We're Kevin and David, and you're about to read our joint blog: Kev and Dave!

One of the most beautiful things about a friendship is discovering that you can do good things, things you do with your friends that can help others .

Has this ever happened to you? You feel like all of a sudden an idea comes along, or just a hunch you just can't quite put your finger on it yet.

And in a WhatsApp chat you tell one of your friends about it and they give you just the missing piece. That's when we realize the true potential of the saying: "two minds think better than one".

That's what this blog is all about :)

Next, everyone is going to introduce themselves. We thank you for being here!

KEV (Kevin)

Hey, hey! My name is Kevin. Nice to have you here! Thanks for coming to Kev and Dave.

To start off, I'll say that the verb "to present" comes from the Latin "praesens" which means "to stand in front of something or someone, in front of a situation."

Are we screen to screen or face to face?

I think environments like Hive allow us to see each other face to face in a multidimensional way. Because, I do believe that we all have many dimensions. About me, I can tell you that today, I am 19 years old, I live in Caracas, Venezuela and I am very excited to be here. I have written songs, poems, articles, in short; many letters on paper and on my phones, but to find for someone to read what I write... that's another thing.

I love everything that has to do with communicating and conversations. I'm a fan of reading, languages, studying and learning, taking risks and trying. All those things make my heart pound. They can give me the chills and make my smile comes out to trot.

I have to clarify that music is what I enjoy and love the most since I was 12 years old. I love to give it, receive it and make it. I know how to play the guitar, the cuatro and I'm pretty good at percussion and some singing. I am currently studying music theory, although it's going a little slow because of the pandemic.

Second to music comes cinema, which brings us together here today. My passion for the latter is only since I was 16, but it is strong and intense. I started studying at a television channel but I had to pause it for now. Even so, every time I see a film, short film or series I feel the need to look at it from a technical point of view. Sometimes I would love to be part of the production team, how I would enjoy it! Because cinema is definitely an adventure for me. It is to be able to tell the viewer, under your gaze, your perception and your context, the world you want to convey.

Stories are part of us since we are born. From the moment we cry for the first time, a particular story is written that many can tell, but it is ours. And cinema as a narrative resource, as an art, seems to me to defend that: the great creative power we have when telling stories. And how they transcend time, our ideas and even ourselves. Whatever genre we are talking about: documentary, action, sci-fi, animation, etc., there is a truth that is hidden. Cinema is powerful, very powerful. Because it can touch the deepest part of the heart.

I want Hive to be a space for me to talk about that: how everything that has image, audio, video and a story, can make us laugh, cry, sing, dance and most importantly, think, all of that through a screen in front of us.

And that's what brings us together here today. I want to thank @ambarvegas who told me about the HIVE family.

DAVE (David)

Hello there, HIVERS! My name is David, I'm 30 years old and I live in Caracas, Venezuela. I have always considered myself a shy person. However, social networks have given me the opportunity to share snippets of my life and feel good about it. Recently, Kevin told me about HIVE, and we thought we could share some things that we both like. I want to start this presentation by talking about three elements that have made a mark on me:

Education. Since I was 14 years old I could tell that I liked to help my classmates to understand things, and to empower themselves from knowledge. I remember that some of them would ask me to study together for their presentations, and I realized that they could learn more easily when I explained to them. I firmly believe that education is indispensable to change the world and that teaching something is always a great opportunity to learn.

Philosophy, on the other hand, is the freedom to be driven by curiosity. To ask difficult but necessary questions. In my experience, philosophical thinking helps me to remove labels from the world, and connect with others in a more real and closer way. Philosophy has been with me since I was very young, when I asked myself questions to which I could not find an answer. I feel that these concerns motivate me to live alert, and I would like that at HIVE we could exchange ideas and grow together.

Lastly: I have been practicing yoga for almost two years now. It came into my life at the right time, and helped me to find a path of well-being and self-knowledge that I had not explored before. It not only improves my physical conditions, but also my relationship with other people, with the environment and with life in general. It is very challenging, unlike what many people think, and it is a lot of fun as well. I see people older than me healthy, happy and jovial, thanks to the constant practice of yoga.

These three dimensions of my life are constantly present. When I am watching some movie, series or even listening to music I find that I do analyze and think about the thoughts of the characters, the situations they go through, or maybe a little bit further: why did the director decided that this happened this way? what is the meaning of this object present in the scene? and other similar questions.

On the other hand, I love to exchange opinions with friends and acquaintances about the programs we like to watch, to know their ideas about the season finale of a show, or some movie that has just come out, or maybe one of those classics we had not seen (because we all always miss one). I think this is a really fun starting point to get to know others and learn new ways of looking at things. I want to have these kinds of conversations with the Hivers community.

KEV AND DAVE

If we had to describe @kevanddave we would say: we believe in the importance of learning new things every day, we are passionate about language, we value respectful dialogue because it enriches us, we enjoy bad jokes, and we consider friendship as a priceless treasure. We are dedicated and we like things to look good.
We are really excited about being part of the HIVE community.

We think the Internet is full of opportunities to make real connections and to bond with interesting people. We want to talk about the insights that flow in our Whatsapp and Telegram chats, about what we watch in movies and series.

Apart from being a lot of fun, we see this as an opportunity to share our visions about the worlds and wonders that play out on everyone's screens, every day.

Finally, we want to thank @rutablockchain, @bluemist and again @ambarvegas for promoting these spaces and providing all their support to the HIVERS community.
