Les cuento que fui yo quien anime a mis amigos a ir a este lugar, ya que antes de viajar a Medellín, yo había visto videos de este sitio y también había visto que algunos amigos habían subido fotos de este lugar. Así que como a mi me encanta todo lo relativo al arte, la cultura, la pintura, tenía que ir a este sitio tan emblemático de Medellín. Así que salimos temprano el día Domingo a tomar el metro, la estación más cercana de nuestro hospedaje era Aguacatala y teníamos que llegar a la estación San Antonio que es la que queda bastante cerca de la plaza.
I tell you that I was the one who encouraged my friends to go to this place, because before traveling to Medellin, I had seen videos of this site and I had also seen that some friends had uploaded photos of this place. So as I love everything related to art, culture, painting, I had to go to this place so emblematic of Medellin. So we left early on Sunday to take the subway, the closest station to our lodging was Aguacatala and we had to get to the San Antonio station which is quite close to the square.
El pasaje en metro sale en 2700 pesos, si no te sales de las estaciones, puedes viajar por todas por ese precio. Se compra una tarjeta en la taquilla y allí mismo se recarga dependiendo de los viajes que quieras hacer. Los trenes pasan cada 3 minutos por la estación, así que se viaja muy rapido por este medio de transporte. A mi me encantó. Finalmente, llegamos a San Antonio y nos quedamos aquí, alli mismo se encontraba la famosa Plaza Botero.
The subway fare is 2700 pesos, if you do not leave the stations, you can travel through all of them for that price. You buy a card at the ticket office and recharge it there depending on the number of trips you want to make. Trains pass every 3 minutes through the station, so you travel very fast by this means of transport. I loved it. Llegamos a la plaza e indudablemente habían muchos turistas tomandose fotos con las esculturas. Así que preferimos recorrer toda la plaza y luego si tomar algunas fotos con las esculturas. Cada una tenía su nombre. El artista Botero se caracterizaba por realizar esculturas y pinturas de gente voluminosa, sin embargo él no los llama gordos. We arrived at the square and undoubtedly there were many tourists taking pictures with the sculptures. So we preferred to walk around the square and then take some pictures with the sculptures. Each one had its own name. The artist Botero was known for his sculptures and paintings of bulky people, but he doesn't call them fat people. Nuestro recorrido por la plaza, fue bastante corto, puesto que es un lugar pequeño y porque lamentablemente el Múseo estaba cerrado. Duramos aproximadamente de 30 minutos a 40 allí. Entonces, nos dispusimos a organizar una parrillada entre amigos @esthefanychacin , @evelynchacin, José y Francis la recepcionista del Hostal (nuestra paisana), en el lugar de hospedaje. Así que luego de recorrer la plaza teníamos que ir al Supermercado a comprar los ingredientes.
Our tour of the square was quite short, since it is a small place and because unfortunately the Museum was closed. We lasted approximately 30 minutes to 40 there. Then, we set out to organize a barbecue among friends @esthefanychacin , @evelynchacin, Jose and Francis the receptionist of the Hostal (our paisana), at the place of lodging. So after walking around the square we had to go to the supermarket to buy the ingredients.
Nos hicimos una foto en la entrada del museo, ya que no pudimos ingresar. Sin embargo, la proxima vez que vuelva espero conocer de cerca las Obras de Botero, un gran Pintor Antioqueño. Luego de aquí, regresamos de nuevo a la estación de metro San Antonio, con destino nuevamente a Aguacatala, de allí dejaríamos unas cosas en el Hostal y partiriamos al supermercado.
We took a picture at the entrance of the museum, since we could not enter. However, the next time I come back I hope to see the works of Botero, a great painter from Antioquia. After here, we went back to the metro station San Antonio, with destination Aguacatala again, from there we would leave some things at the hostel and go to the supermarket.
Me llevo lindos recuerdos de este lugar, Medellín es hermoso y volvería a visitarlo varias veces más. Llegamos sanos y salvos a casa y nos preparamos para nuestra segunda actividad del día, nuestra parrillada. Así que salimos y fuimos caminando al Carulla el supermercado más cercano. Allí compramos la carne, el aguacate, algunas verduras, una Cola Cola y porsupuesto la cerveza costeña, para acompañar nuestra comida.
I have fond memories of this place, Medellín is beautiful and I would visit it several more times. We arrived home safe and sound and got ready for our second activity of the day, our barbecue. So we left and walked to the nearest supermarket Carulla. There we bought the meat, avocado, some vegetables, a Cola Cola and of course the Costa Rican beer to go with our meal.
Compramos los ingredientes y también algunos snacks para compartir. Llegamos a nuestro hospedaje y allí nos esperaba la señora Francis. De una vez empezamos a ayudarle con la preparación de la parrilla en la cocina del hostal. Nos reimos, conversamos y la pasamos genial. Esta fue una pequeña despedida para mis amigas, ya que ellas regresaban a Venezuela al día siguiente muy temprano. Así que cerramos este día comiendo delicioso.
We bought the ingredients and also some snacks to share. We arrived at our lodge and Mrs. Francis was waiting for us. All at once we started to help her with the preparation of the grill in the hostel's kitchen. We laughed, talked and had a great time. This was a little farewell for my friends, since they were going back to Venezuela very early the next day. So we closed this day eating delicious food.
