Not all jobless folks are reprehensible.

A little bit of responsibility and a little bit of hard work can help shape people's lives and make them an asset to their families, friends and society at large. People know this and that's why society frowns upon anyone who chooses to lazy around without taking up responsibility or doing any work.

You know, there are people like that. They wake up each morning and spend the whole day till nightfall without doing any productive thing. They don't want to take up a job and they don't seem to be interested in learning any skill which they can monetize. They are just interested in playing hypeman to a friend or family member who's already working him/herself to death.

I don't know about the rest of the world but the society where I come from, by and large, condemns those people and calls them all sorts of names. They are seen as jobless folks and they are often regarded as shameless liabilities to those around them. Yeah, the society sees joblessness as a reprehensible thing.

However, what would become of someone willing and eager to work and the person makes an effort to spot opportunities that can take him out of joblessness, but the opportunities are not forthcoming?

For such people who lack employment opportunities or monetization opportunities, would it still be right for them to be subjected to the same condemnation that is given to someone who is predominantly lazy and unwilling to work?

That wouldn't be fair, right? And, I'm not taking this stance because I want to play nice. It's just that some people are trying to get something worth doing in a country where the unemployment rate is the highest in the world. It doesn't seem right for someone who's already in that situation to still be condemned for being jobless, especially when the person is relentlessly trying to get something worth doing.

If you choose to have these in mind, one of the questions you will have to ask yourself whenever you are in the presence of a jobless folk would be; Is he jobless because of his decision to not take up a job or is he jobless because there is no job for him to take up?

Think about that.
