Hey bros, espero que estén muy bien como siempre, el día de hoy hablaremos sobre una película de acción y espías la cual nos plantea el típico escenario de conspiraciones y disparos en todo lugar y momento, sin más que agregar agarren sus pistolas y pónganse sus artefactos de espionaje que esto esta por comenzar.
Hey bros, I hope you are very well as always, today we will talk about an action and spy movie which presents us with the typical scenario of conspiracies and shooting in all places and times, without more than adding, grab your pistols and put on your espionage devices that this is about to begin.
The November Man es una película estrenada en 2014 la cual se encuentra basada en la novela de Bill Granger titulada "There Are no Spies". La historia se centra en Peter Devereaux que tenía la misión de supervisar a un joven agente llamado David Mason, durante esa misión David comete un error y gracias a ello muere un civil. 5 años después Peter se encuentra retirado en Suiza y es cuando recibe una visita de su antiguo jefe de la CIA para pedirle que realice un último trabajo.
The November Man is a film released in 2014 which is based on the novel by Bill Granger titled "There Are no Spies". The story centers on Peter Devereaux who had the mission of supervising a young agent named David Mason, during that mission David makes a mistake and a civilian dies as a result. 5 years later Peter is retired in Switzerland and it is when he receives a visit from his former head of the CIA to ask him to do one last job.
No detallare a cada personaje por separado debido a que no hay mucho que analizar de estos puesto que son sumamente planos y aburridos, los únicos que mencionare serán Peter y David puesto que ambos son coprotagonistas y son los que se les conoce un poco más. Entre ellos hay una relación muy lamentable mentor-aprendiz o padre-hijo, siendo que el trabajo de Peter es supervisar a David para asegurarse de que sea un agente eficiente pero obviamente existen disonancias entre ambos por el hecho de David querer probar su valía como agente y querer demostrar ser mejor que Peter, siendo que esto es lo único destacable de la personalidad de estos 2 porque no se explica más de ellos, ni sus motivaciones ni nada parecido. Reafirmando conceptos genéricos de los espías como la frialdad fingida y el renunciar a todo tipo de lazos para evitar ser vulnerables (Aunque tampoco le hacen mucho caso a esto) Esta falta de caracterización hace que estos puedan ser colocados en alguna otra película del mismo genero sin notarse mucha diferencia.
I will not detail each character separately because there is not much to analyze about these since they are extremely flat and boring, the only ones I will mention will be Peter and David since they are both co-stars and they are the ones who know them a little more. Between them there is a very unfortunate mentor-apprentice or father-son relationship, being that Peter's job is to supervise David to make sure he is an efficient agent but obviously there are dissonances between the two due to the fact that David wants to prove his worth as an agent. and wanting to prove to be better than Peter, being that this is the only remarkable thing about the personality of these 2 because no more is explained about them, or their motivations or anything like that. Reaffirming generic concepts of spies such as feigned coldness and renouncing all kinds of ties to avoid being vulnerable (Although they do not pay much attention to this either) This lack of characterization means that these can be placed in some other film of the same genre without notice a lot of difference.
La película es todo lo genérica que suelen ser las películas de este genero, se centra en una conspiración la cual implica a figuras poderosas por lo cual se esfuerzan en eliminar a la única testigo que los puede implicar. Cuenta con múltiples tiroteos y escenas de acción que no son lo suficientemente buenas como para salvar la película, puesto que no posee nada que la caracterice o que la diferencie de otros representantes del género. Se intenta sorprender al espectador con giros de tuerca "inesperados" pero de inesperados tienen poco, nada y menos pues son completamente clichés, a lo largo de la cinta se ponen sobre la mesa temas de impacto como violación y asesinatos pero la película no sabe desarrollarlos correctamente siendo que se convierten rápidamente en material inutilizado haciendo un total desperdicio de la información proporcionada al espectador. Como cereza del pastel se dejan incontables cabos sueltos de muchos hechos y además existen incongruencias entre las acciones de los personajes y sus supuestas convicciones, esto hace aún más lamentable a la película puesto que siquiera puede mantener la postura de sus personajes. Recomiendo ver esta película únicamente si no se tiene otra opción puesto que hay otros representantes del género que son mucho mejores.
The film is as generic as movies of this genre tend to be, it focuses on a conspiracy which involves powerful figures for which they strive to eliminate a witness who may implicate them. It has multiple shootings and action scenes that are not good enough to save the film, since it does not have anything that characterizes it or that differentiates it from other representatives of the genre. They try to surprise the viewer with "unexpected" twists of the screw but they have little, nothing and less unexpected because they are completely clichés, throughout the film impact themes such as rape and murders are put on the table but the film does not know how to develop them correctly being that they quickly become unused material making a total waste of the information provided to the viewer. Like cherry on the cake, countless loose ends of many facts are left and there are also incongruities between the actions of the characters and their supposed convictions, this makes the film even more regrettable since it can even maintain the position of its characters. I recommend watching this movie only if you have no other option since there are other representatives of the genre that are much better.
