"Una película de terror de Marvel con mutantes" es lo que llegaban a decir cuando se hablaba de Los Nuevos Mutantes, y no era para menos esperarse eso con los trailers que se habían visto y la historia principal. Adolescente que no controlan sus poderes en un lugar que parece estar siendo controlado por alguien más sacando sus peores miedos a relucir. Podía ser, perfectamente, una película de terror y psicológica, pero lamentablemente solo va en picada; o para otros, simplemente se mantuvo en el suelo todo el tiempo.
La película se categorizó como PG-13 así que tal vez por eso no se pudo ver todo el horror que pudo ser, la adquisición de la franquicia por Disney también pudo ser un factor para ser un film para todo publico y no uno más crudo y maduro. La historia es interesante no les voy a mentir, da mucho de que esperar, pero los personajes como el rumbo que va dando todo termina siendo predecible y aburrida. Para mí fue realmente un desperdicio ver a actrices como Ana Joy y Maise Williams en papeles que pueden ser uno de sus peores elecciones; o tal vez solo mala suerte, pero los personajes que interpretan no dan chispa alguna de emoción, en realidad, ningún personaje lo hace, incluso la protagonista es la más plana en toda la película.
Puede haber una segunda parte si recaudan lo suficiente, puede que ni lo logren porque colocaron la película en cines y no en servicios de streaming, lo que sera una perdida de dinero dado a que muchos cines están cerrados por la pandemia aun vigente, puede que dentro de unos años alguien más tome este trabajo y cambie la forma en como vemos a estos Nuevos Mutantes, que Disney le de el mando a Fox y se haga una película a la talla de su historia.

The story is interesting I'm not going to lie to you, it gives a lot to hope for, but the characters and the direction that everything is taking ends up being predictable and boring. It was really a waste for me to see actresses like Ana Joy and Maise Williams in roles that may be one of their worst choices; or maybe just bad luck, but the characters they play don't give off any spark of emotion, in reality, no character does, even the main character is the flattest in the whole movie.
There may be a second part if they raise enough, they may not even succeed because they placed the film in theaters and not on streaming services, which will be a waste of money given that many cinemas are closed due to the pandemic still in force, it may be that in a few years someone else takes this job and changes the way we see these New Mutants, that Disney gives the command to Fox and a movie is made to match its history.
