As I love nature, what better way to honor it than by taking a trip to the incredible Roraima. A Tepuy in La Gran Sabana - Venezuela, with its immense 42km square and its spectacular views. An 8 day trip where walking long distances is rewarded with beautiful places. In the end everyone comes to the same conclusion, "IT WAS WORTH IT".
El viaje comenzo reuniendonos en un centro comercial en Puerto Ordaz para esperar el transporte que nos llevaria a un pueblo cerca de Paraitepuy para descansar y luego chequearnos la mañana siguiente en imparque, ya que todos deben registrarse antes de comenzar la caminata. Ya en el pueblo, conoceras a tus compañeros de viaje y a los guias que te acompañaran, junto con las precausiones y reglas que debes seguir.
The trip began by meeting at a shopping center in Puerto Ordaz to wait for the transport that would take us to a village near Paraitepuy to rest and then check in the next morning at imparque, as everyone must register before starting the trek. Once in the village, you will meet your fellow travelers and the guides who will accompany you, along with the precautions and rules you must follow.
La primera caminata tiene una duracion aproximada de 5 horas el cual es equivalente a 12km contando con tu mochila con tus pertenencias con un peso aproximado de 8 o 10 kilogramos. A cada momento sentiras que el Roraima estara mas cerca mientras disfrutas de una llanura hermosa con un excelente clima. Para mi han sido los 12km mas faciles de recorrer de mi vida ya que estaba distraido con todo lo que veia. Hasta que llegas a Rio Tek, donde montamos nuestro primer campamento y pasamos la primera noche bajo las estrellas.
The first hike has an approximate duration of 5 hours which is equivalent to 12km counting with your backpack with your belongings with an approximate weight of 8 to 10 kilograms. Every moment you will feel that the Roraima will be closer while enjoying a beautiful plain with an excellent climate. For me it was the easiest 12km of my life as I was distracted by everything I saw. Until you reach Rio Tek, where we set up our first camp and spent the first night under the stars.
Al segundo dia de caminata, comenzamos cruzando dos rios y un recorrido de 9km hasta el Campamento Base. Me parecio el mas dificil ya que tiene una inclinacion ligera pero desafiante, ya que en todo momento era cuesta arriba. Esta vez estuve mas concetrado en llegar y no tanto en las vistas, ya que el panorama era un poco similar. Cuando al fin llegue a Campamento Base no tuve fuerzas para mas, solo para tomar un baño en un pequeño pozo llamado La Nevera por su fria agua casi a congelar.
On the second day of hiking, we started crossing two rivers and a 9km trek to Base Camp. I found it the most difficult as it has a slight incline but challenging, as it was uphill all the way. This time I was more focused on getting there and not so much on the views, as the panorama was a bit similar. When I finally arrived at Base Camp I had no strength for more, only to take a bath in a small well called La Nevera for its almost freezing cold water.

El tercer dia realmente seria el mas dificil, ya que comenzariamos a subir por la pared del gran Tepuy, en esta caminata debe liderar uno de los guias ya que estaremos adentrandonos en un entorno diferente a los que habiamos pasado. A pesar de ser 5km hasta la cima, se sintio como si fuesen 10km y habian subidas y bajadas con dificultades medias. Las vistas eran incomparables hasta llegar al final.
The third day would really be the most difficult, as we would begin to climb the wall of the great Tepuy, in this hike must lead one of the guides as we will be entering a different environment to those who had passed. Despite being 5km to the top, it felt like 10km and there were climbs and descents with medium difficulties. The views were incomparable until we reached the end.
Una vez en la cima, realizamos varios recorridos donde visitamos lugares increibles en dos dias. Para luego iniciar el descenso. Anexare varios fotos increibles para no extender mas este post.
