How to Make Putu Bamboo With Banana Leaves

This bamboo putu actually uses a bamboo mold, but I'm going to use a banana leaf as a mold to make a bamboo putu. Well, the ingredients you need to buy and provide are not so many. The first thing you have to prepare is rice flour, pandan water solution that has been in a blender for coloring, then banana leaves, grated coconut, brown sugar and the last is salt. After you have prepared these materials, now let's go to the first stage.

The first stage, after you have prepared all the ingredients, now prepare a steamer, then steam the rice flour as much as 200 grams for about 15 minutes using medium heat.

The second stage, after you have steamed the rice flour for 15 minutes, now remove the rice flour and steam the grated coconut that you have prepared for 15 to 20 minutes and cover the steamer. Use medium heat to steam the grated coconut. The purpose of steaming grated coconut is so that the grated coconut is not easily stale.

The third stage, while the grated coconut is steamed, now we will prepare the banana leaf mixture first. Clean the banana leaves using a clean cloth. For the length and width of the banana leaf, you can adjust it according to your wishes, then roll the banana leaf, then glue the top and bottom using a clip. After that trim the top and bottom using scissors.

The fourth stage, after you have made a bamboo putu mold from banana leaves, now prepare a place and pour all the rice flour that you have steamed before. Then pour little by little the pandan leaf water solution that you have prepared. Then knead the dough until the dough changes color and the texture of the dough turns into grains of sand, use a solution of pandan water to taste.

The fifth stage, after the dictionary has kneaded the dough until the color of the dough turns green and the texture of the dough becomes grains of sand. Now prepare a sieve and sieve all the dough so that there are no too large dough grains mixed with the dough. You can press the grains that are too large with a spoon to crush them.

The sixth stage, after you have filtered the dough until there are no more large grains. Now prepare the brown sugar and cut the brown sugar into small pieces like the photo above.

The seventh stage, after you have cut the brown sugar into small pieces, now stand up the banana leaves, pour the mixture in half first, then enter the brown sugar into the banana leaves, then cover again with the dough until it is full and solid. Do it repeatedly until all the dough and banana leaves are done.

The eighth stage, after all the banana leaves have been filled with dough and brown sugar, now prepare a steamer and place the banana leaves in the steamer like the photo above. Then steam all the bamboo putu for about 1 hour and cover the steamer.

And finally, after the bamboo putu has been steamed for 1 hour, the bamboo putu is ready to be removed from the banana leaf and served to your family or friends. Sprinkle grated coconut over the putu bamboo that you have prepared. It tastes very good and when you take a bite of the brown sugar it melts in your mouth.
