How to Make Bombolone Donuts

Well, a few days ago I've made donuts with a variety of toppings, today I will make donuts from Italy, this Bombolone donut comes from Italy and I will try to make it as good and delicious as possible. The ingredients you have to prepare to make bombolone are not much different from the ingredients for making donuts. The first thing you have to prepare is wheat flour with high protein, then margarine, powdered sugar with any brand, 2 chicken eggs, 1 yeast sachet, half a glass of UHT milk and the last is chocolate to be filled in the inside of the bombolone. Now let's start with the first stage.

After you have prepared all the ingredients, now prepare 1 place to make the bombolone dough, the first thing you have to put is 18 tablespoons of flour, 3 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon of yeast and salt to taste. Now we go to the next stage to make bombolone.

What you have to do now is separate the egg yolk from the egg white, because all we need is 2 egg yolks, then add half a glass of UHT milk into the mixture. You can have 2 choices, you can use UHT milk and also mineral water for the dough, I suggest using UHT milk, so that the bombolone dough is softer and creamier. After that, knead the dough until it is half soft.

Next you have to do after stirring until half smooth, add 2 tablespoons of margarine, then stir continuously until the dough is really soft and evenly mixed. The process of kneading takes a little effort so that the dough is very soft. If you have a mixer, you can use a mixer to stir to make it easier and not tired hahaha.

After you have mixed using a mixer or hand, you can see the photo above, the dough is soft and ready to go to the next process, I purely use my hands and energy without using a mixer, hopefully I can buy complete cooking utensils. After that, cover the dough with a cloth and wait about 40 minutes for the dough to rise.

Next, prepare 1 sheet of parchment paper for the base of the bombolone dough, if you have a wide enough cutting board, you can use the cutting board. Next, sprinkle the flour first evenly so that the bombolone dough doesn't stick to the parchment paper or your cutting board. After that, cut it into several parts like the photo above, I cut the dough not too big, because the bombolone donuts have a small size.

Now, after it has been cut into several parts, now all you have to do is press the dough by hand until it is round, you can use it to press the dough, then make the dough into a ball to make it more similar to the original bombolone from Italy. Then cover the dough again with a cloth for 5 minutes.

After you form the dough into a round, now fry all the bombolone until it is completely cooked, fry it until it turns brown and use low heat to fry the bombolone.

Next, first drain the bombolone donuts so that the oil does not stick, then prepare 1 plate and put a little powdered sugar. Then smear all the drained bombolone donuts, spread them evenly and don't leave any residue.

Well, the result is like the photo above, it looks like all the donuts have been smeared with powdered sugar, now let's put some variations of chocolate into the bombolone donuts.

All you have to do now is to put the chocolate variant into the bombolone donut, that is, use chopsticks to poke a hole in the donut until half the donut. Then prepare several variants of chocolate and place them in plastic, then cut the back of the plastic so that the chocolate can come out. Then, plug the end that you have cut into the donut that has been punched in the hole using chopsticks, repeat until all the donuts are filled with the chocolate variant.

Finally, bombolone donuts from Italy are finished and ready to be eaten with your family or friends. The donuts are very soft and when you take a bite, the chocolate melts in your mouth.
