START SMALL THEN GROW BIG

The die is cast and the time is fast. September is here again and one thing is sure, the appearance of the 'ber' month speaks volumes of much time has been used in the year, how many days had come but gone.
However the seemingly few days left in the year are enough to start something worthwhile in spite the odds.

One of the major reasons for personal and corporate failure is that, “we want to start big”. I am a strong advocate of excellence, but I believe any new venture has to start small.

Around here, I have seen young Nigerians with a fast food mentality have literally sentenced themselves to a permanent life of mediocrity, because of their desire to start “big”.

There are also another category of people who would continue to procrastinate on their dreams and goals. They are always getting ready, waiting for the day when all circumstance and conditions will be perfect before launching out.

They have forgotten that, you do not have to be great to get started, but you need to get started to be great.

THE SECRET OF SMALL BEGINNINGS.

Demosthenes opined that, “small opportunities are often the beginning of great enterprises”.

Whatever you intend to achieve, you need to start from a little beginning. If what you are involved in, is a new career or business, it is wise for you to start on a pedestal where you can manage any loss that you may incur.

I have met people who know little or nothing about poultry business who invested their hard earned life savings in the business, just because someone or an advertorial promised it was a money spinner. When the vicissitudes of poultry keeping sets in and losses are been incurred, they become bitter and tell everyone who cares to listen that, poultry business is a bad venture.

No, they refused to start on a small scale before a gradual progression into a large scale.
Starting small will save you from a whole lot of heartaches and gives you opportunity to learn hands on.
