Todo comenzó cuando la vi un poco triste, no era ella, no quería comer ni jugar, y mucho menos salir a pasear, lo cual me sorprendió muchísimo, me imaginé que se sentia mal del estómago ya que le había sentido su barriga un poco dura.

Resulta que por recomendaciones decidí darle ciertas vitaminas, y ácido fólico, todo esto recomendado por un veterinario. Pensé que ya se sentía un poco mejor ya que le había dado las vitaminas y caminaba un poco más que antes, pero seguía sin comer, solo comía zanahoria rayada y luego la vomitaba, pero bebía mucha agua.
It turns out that due to recommendations I decided to give her certain vitamins and folic acid, all recommended by a veterinarian. I thought she was feeling a little better now that I had given her the vitamins and she was walking a little more than before, but she still didn't eat, she just ate grated carrots and then she vomited them up, but she drank a lot of water.
Ya no sabia que hacer, ni que medicamentos darle, así que decimos llevarla al veterinario y para mi sorpresa cuando llegué, ella estaba segregando una cierta cantidad de pus por su vagina...

Cuando ingresé al veterinario me comentó que se trataba de una pimoetra, la piometra es una infección en el útero que puede producirse en animales como perras y gatas, es una infección de alto riesgo, ya que esto hace que el útero se llene de pus. los síntomas que pueden presentar son fiebre, letargia ( significa que el animal se verá apagado o indiferente a ciertos estímulos visuales y auditivos de su alrededor), poliuria (orina en exceso), polidipsia (beber agua en exceso), diarrea, y agrandamiento abdominal. El tratamiento para esta enfermedad era la intervención quirúrgica, la cirugía se trataba de extirparle el útero y los ovarios.

Pero antes de la cirugía el veterinario me comentó que se le debía hacer rápido un eco, y unos exámenes, para ver si la perrita estaba acta para ser operada, y analizar el grado de infección, una vez que le hicimos los exámenes, resultó que la infección era muy alta, se tenía que operar de inmediato, si no se trataba a tiempo, la
enfermedad podía avanzar un poco más y ocasionarle una septicemia (bacterias en la sangre), toxemia (toxinas en la sangre) o insuficiencia renal.
But before the surgery, the vet told me that an echo should be done quickly, and some tests, to see if the dog was ready to be operated on, and to analyze the degree of infection, once we did the tests, it turned out that the infection was very high, it had to be operated immediately, if it was not treated in time, the disease could progress a little further and cause septicemia (bacteria in the blood), toxemia (toxins in the blood) or kidney failure.
Se trataba de una operación de emergencia ya que si la matriz está cerrada, en cualquier momento podía reventar dentro de la perra y provocarle una peritonitis, lo cual es mucho más difícil de controlar, y le podía causar la muerte.

El veterinario fue muy sincero conmigo, me dijo que mi perrita podia morir en la operación ya que era una operación de alto riesgo, yo estaba muy asustada, pero no podía hacer nada, solo esperar y tener fé de que todo saldría bien.
The vet was very honest with me, he told me that my dog could die in the operation because it was a hige risk operation, I was very scared but but couldn´t do anything, just wait and have faith that everything was going to be ok.
Finalmente la operación fue un éxito, todo salió muy bien, y se logró extirpar todo a tiempo.
At the end, the operation was a success and everything went great and the vet was able to take everithing out
Le mandaron una cierta cantidad de antibióticos y cremas para su herida, y ese mismo día pude llevarla a casa, me sorprendió lo mucho que comió, y por supuesto yo estaba súper contenta, por fin pude verla sana y salva

es importante saber que para prevenir esta enfermedad debes esterilizarla si no planeas que tenga hijos, es aconsejable que no usen tratamiento hormonal anticonceptivo o inhibidores de celos, y también es muy util llevar un calendario con los dias celo de nuestras perritas.
