A little more than a decade ago when I heard the song "Fall for You" by Secondhand Serenade. That time when Emo is very popular, and Secondhand Serenade is one of them. I also downloaded some songs such as "Vulnerable", "Maybe", and "Your Call". Some of those Emo songs are somewhat played with guitar, but the songs are done beautifully.
I was even late to know that Secondhand Serenade is a one-man band, and he only had back-up band when touring. It is interesting that he's got to pull off by himself creating his albums. Secondhand Serenade is actually independent, and his success on MySpace brought him a record deal. Those were the good old days of MySpace, it actually created music stars.
In the mainstream, Secondhand Serenade achieved some success. Yes, it's limited that he haven't crossed to a larger territory. However, "Fall For You" became a hit in America gaining 2x platinum certification. Secondhand Serenade also became popular here in Asia, where Emo became very popular too.
Secondhand Serenade may not be heard of recently but he's still active in music. It would be great to hear new music from him like his songs a decade ago, the kind of tune that will serve as nostalgia for music fans then.
