1 ¿Cual es el primer libro que recuerdas haber leído de niño?
De niño no leí ningún libro, fue durante la adolescencia que comencé mi aventura con la lectura. Un amigo, que si era un lector muy cultivado, me recomendó una obra un poco complicada, me dijo que su lectura era indispensable para los que éramos jóvenes.
Así que mi primera experiencia seria de lectura fue con “El Lobo Estepario”, de Herman Hesse. Cuando comencé a leerlo quedé desconcertado, no era un libro al uso común, no trataba sobre algún cuento que fuese fácilmente digerible. Sin embargo, aquello que contaba “Harry Haller” resonaba profundamente dentro de mí. Me sentía identificado con las angustias planteadas por el autor, con su inconformidad con el modo de vida que había conocido. De algún modo yo también sentía que pertenecía a ese grupo de personas que llevan un “lobo” dentro de sí, sentía que el libro me hablaba directamente.
Este clásico de la literatura existencialista tuvo una profunda influencia sobre las elecciones que tomé en mi juventud. A lo largo de la vida lo he leído varias veces. Hace unos meses lo empecé de nuevo y lo he revisando poco a poco. Es una obra altamente recomendable para todos.
2 ¿Cual es el mejor momento para leer?
Ahorita dispongo de tiempo para leer a cualquier hora. A veces llevo varias lecturas simultáneas, algunas las leo en la mañana y otras en la noche. El horario de la tarde lo destino principalmente para escribir. Sin embargo, procuro leer en la noche aquellas obras menos adictivas porque corro el riesgo de pasar toda la noche leyendo. Más de una vez me ha pasado que viendo lo interesante de lo acontecido en el libro se me espanta el sueño y solo quiero seguir leyendo.

1 What is the first book you remember reading as a child?
As a child I didn't read any book, it was during my adolescence that I started my adventure with reading. A friend, who was a very cultivated reader, recommended a rather complicated work to me, he told me that it was essential reading for those of us who were young.
So my first serious reading experience was with Herman Hesse's "The Steppenwolf". When I started reading it I was puzzled, it was not a common book, it was not about some easily digestible story. However, the story of "Harry Haller" resonated deeply within me. I identified with the author's anguish, with his dissatisfaction with the way of life he had known. Somehow I also felt that I belonged to that group of people who carry a "wolf" inside them, I felt that the book spoke directly to me.
This classic of existentialist literature had a profound influence on the choices I made in my youth. Throughout life I have read it several times. A few months ago I started it again and have been revisiting it bit by bit. It is a highly recommended work for everyone.
2 What is the best time to read?
Right now I have time to read at any time. Sometimes I read several books at the same time, some I read in the morning and others at night. The afternoon is mainly for writing. However, I try to read in the evening those works that are less addictive because I run the risk of spending the whole night reading. More than once it has happened to me that seeing how interesting what happened in the book is makes me feel sleepy and I just want to keep reading.
3 ¿En qué formato prefiere leer: Digital, papel o ambos?
Ahorita me doy cuenta que el formato en papel está pensado para los ojos jóvenes. No me había percatado de eso hasta que comencé a tener algunos problemas con la vista. Hay libros que me cuesta leer en papel por lo pequeño de las letras. Afortunadamente tengo un lector en el que se puede ampliar cualquier fuente y la pantalla no produce cansancio. Me resulta más cómodo leer en el lector electrónico que en el papel.
4 ¿Que te distrae más cuando lees?
Dependiendo del tipo de lectura me molestan o no algunas cosas. He podido leer sin dificultad una obra policiaca en una parada de autobús; en la playa, levantando la vista del libro periódicamente para ver corretear a los muchachos, o en alguna cafetería de un sitio concurrido, con ese tipo de libros ni el ruido ni las condiciones ambientales me afectan la concentración. Pero hay otro tipo de obras que para poderlas leer necesito bastante silencio, de lo contrario no puedo hacerlo, no logro concentrarme.
5 ¿Género favorito?
Leo casi todo con excepción de los libros de terror. Disfruto cualquier buen ensayo que me deje información y temas para reflexionar. De igual forma me gusta leer cualquier tipo de novela, preferiblemente aquellas donde se haga un buen tratamiento psicológico de los personajes y donde abunden las referencias históricas. La ciencia ficción también me resulta muy agradable. En términos generales lo que me atrae de un libro es la habilidad del autor para escribir de manera agradable y fluida.

3 In what format do you prefer to read: Digital, paper or both?
I now realize that the paper format is designed for young eyes. I didn't realize that until I started having some problems with my eyesight. There are books that are hard to read on paper because of the small print. Fortunately I have an ereader where you can enlarge any font and the screen does not cause fatigue. I find it more comfortable to read on the e-reader than on paper.
4 What distracts you the most when you read?
Depending on the type of reading, some things bother me or not. I have been able to read a crime novel without difficulty at a bus stop; at the beach, looking up from the book periodically to see the kids running around, or in a cafeteria in a crowded place, with that kind of book neither the noise nor the environmental conditions affect my concentration. But there are other types of works that I need a lot of silence in order to read them, otherwise I can't do it, I can't concentrate.
5 Favorite genre?
I read almost everything with the exception of horror books. I enjoy any good essay that gives me information and food for thought. I also like to read any kind of novel, preferably those where there is a good psychological treatment of the characters and where historical references abound. Science fiction is also very enjoyable for me. Generally speaking, what attracts me to a book is the author's ability to write in an enjoyable and fluid manner.
