[ENG][ESP] Our first godchild // Nuestro primer ahijado

     Hello to all the Gems community, lately I have been very busy working and have not been able to bring you anything new, but that ends today, so I want to tell you about a very special day for me and my bride, the day we became godparents for the first time.

     Hola a toda la comunidad de Gems, últimamente he estado muy ocupado trabajando y no les he podido traer nada nuevo, pero eso se acaba hoy, por eso, les quiero contar sobre un día muy especial para mí novia y para mí, el día que nos convertimos en padrinos por primera vez.

     After a long time scheduling the baptism of my nephews, and after several rescheduling due to missing details, we finally agreed on a comfortable date for all, the big day where my nephews would be baptized in the church San Jose de Chivacoa, would be Saturday, February 27th.

     Después de un largo tiempo programando el bautizo de mis sobrinos, y luego de varias reprogramaciones por algún detalle que faltaba, por fin se había acordado una fecha cómoda para todos, el gran día donde se bautizarían mis sobrinos en la iglesia San José de Chivacoa, sería el sábado 27 de febrero.

     It was not only difficult to choose the day of the ceremony, but even more difficult to choose what to do after the ceremony. But with everyone's help, it was agreed to have a family lunch, along with the godparents of my youngest nephew, who would also be baptized that day, at the caney La Odisea farm.

     No solo fue difícil escoger el día de la ceremonia, si no, más difícil aún, escoger que se haría luego de ella. Pero con la ayuda de todos, se acordó hacer un almuerzo en familia, junto con los padrinos de mi sobrino menor, quien también sería bautizado ese día, en el caney la granja La Odisea.

     It was a long ceremony, as there were many children waiting to be baptized, among them, my nephew, who was one of the last in line. Most of them were very small, mostly newborns or about 1 year old, but, my nephew was already quite old, he was 4 years old, and although it took a little longer than usual, it is never too late to receive God's blessing, so he was a little more restless, wondering what would happen or what we would do that day, although we tried to explain it to him, it is not an easy subject for a child to understand.

     Fue una ceremonia larga, ya que había muchos niños esperando por ser bautizados, entre ellos, mi sobrino, quien era uno de los últimos en la fila. La mayoría eran muy pequeños, la mayoría recién nacidos o de alrededor de 1 año, pero, mi sobrino ya era bastante mayor, él tenía 4 años, y aunque tardó un poco más de lo normal, nunca es tarde para recibir la bendición de Dios, por ello andaba un poco más inquieto, preguntándose qué pasaría o que haríamos ese día, aunque tratamos de explicárselo, no es un tema fácil de entender para un niño.

     When the time came, my nephew was very scared, because it was something completely new for him, and he was not in the mood to take pictures, but, it was a day that could not be missed to take some souvenir pictures.

     Llegado el momento, mi sobrino se asustó mucho, porque era algo completamente nuevo para él, y no es que estuviera muy de ánimo para tomarse fotos, pero, era un día que no podía dejarse pasar para tomar algunas fotos de recuerdo.

     Once the ceremony was over, we immediately went to La Odisea Farm, where a delicious lunch awaited us, and although there were some inconveniences when it came to serving the food, fortunately we were able to enjoy that much needed family lunch.

     Terminada la ceremonia, nos dirigimos inmediatamente a la Granja La Odisea, donde un rico almuerzo nos esperaba, y aunque hubo ciertos inconvenientes a la hora de servir de comida, afortunadamente pudimos deleitarnos con ese almuerzo en familia que tanto hacía falta.

     My girlfriend was already part of the family, but it was a great joy to see her there eating with us, knowing that now she was officially part of the family, since now, together with me, we are the godparents of my nephew Alessandro, a responsibility that together we decided to assume, committing ourselves to support him in his spiritual and emotional growth, cultivating his faith, and, above all, always being there for him when he needs it most, and although this is not, nor seems an easy task, I am sure that together, we can do that and much more.

     Mi novia ya era parte de la familia, pero dio mucha alegría verla allí comiendo con nosotros, sabiendo que, ahora lo era oficialmente, ya que ahora, junto a mí, somos los padrinos de mi sobrino Alessandro, una responsabilidad que juntos decidimos asumir, comprometiéndonos a apoyarlo en su crecimiento espiritual y emocional, cultivando su fe, y, sobre todas las cosas, estando siempre para el cuándo más lo necesite, y aunque esto, no sea, ni parezca una tarea sencilla, estoy seguro de que juntos, podremos con eso y mucho más.
