Let Covid-19 Give Way! - An Original Poem

images 5.jpg

Let the schools open their gates again,
For toddlers to crayon blank papers,
Jauntily blabbing poems,
Some spilling their morning milk.
Let Covid-19 give way!

Let the games play again,
For the crowd to cheer
When their favourite team score a goal
That will be disapproved by the VAR.
Let Covid-19 give way!

Let the streets be peopled again,
By the feet of noble men and women
Who sweat day and night,
To plaster smiles on the faces of children and the old.
Let Covid-19 give way!

Let hands shake again
Bodies rubbing against bodies
Like bread and butter
To ignite the fire of friendship and warmth
Let Covid-19 give way!

Let the believers congregate again
Holy hands in worship
Eyes lifted to the heavens
In appreciation of God's love
Let Covid-19 give way!

Let my friends sneeze again
The globules landing on my face
I want to smile and say, bless you
Fearing no harm
Let Covid-19 give way and never return!
