Good Fortune on every corner ( #red #colorchallenge )

If you happen to visit Singapore's Chinatown Heritage Center, the first things that you will notice are the lanterns hanged on the ceiling and the decors dangling along the line of the shops.

They look striking in red.

While talking to the vendors, I was told that the first Chinese settlers in Singapore brought their culture from China especially the ones that bring good fortune. The color red is the national color of China which represents fire. as well as happiness, beauty, vitality, good luck, & success.

Another noticeable feature of the lanterns & decor is the gold lining on it. It also represents good luck and it's also a celebrated color especially during the new year. The majority of the Chinese beliefs revolve around these colors and every Chinese household and even offices will always have such decor displays.

These photos serve as my entry for today's #colorchallenge ~ Red!
