A Gem Hidden In The Brush

While out on a trail one day I happened to see this pretty little tree that was hidden in some brush! The trail was at the Little Gunpowder Falls State Park In Harford County, Maryland.

It may not look very hidden in the first photo of my post but that wasn't the first photo that I took when I saw it behind the overgrowth on the beginning of the trail. The bright red color caught my eye but the overgrowth really made it difficult to get a good photo of that pretty little tree.

My husband and I kept on the trail in one direction and we decided to try a different trail out when a light rain started to fall a little harder. That trail that we took out didn't work out at all for us and we had to backtrack to the trail that we came in on.

I'm glad we tried that trail though as it still worked out splendidly for us. Taking that wrong trail took us to the opposite side of where that pretty red tree was and I was able to get some much better unobstructed, or less obstructed, views of it.

I'm not sure what kind of tree it was although the colorful red leaves made me think that it could be some kind of young Maple tree. That is just a guess on my part but it definitely was a nice little gem to find hidden in the brush! 💖
