Hoy quisiera compartir con ustedes algunas fotografías tomadas con mi celular de un plato tradicional de mi tierra oriental carupanera muy sencillo de preparar. Su sabor es exquisito. A mi madre le encanta, es uno de sus platos preferidos.

Today I would like to share with you some photographs taken with my cell phone of a traditional dish from my eastern land of Carúpano, very simple to prepare. Its flavor is exquisite. My mother loves it, it is one of her favorite dishes.

Mi tierra está rodeadas de hermosas playas donde es muy común la pesca y venta del pescado. Así lo venden en el mercado.

My land is surrounded by beautiful beaches where fishing and sale of fish is very common. This is how they sell it on the market.

Para prepararlo debemos sancochar el pescado luego pasarlo por agua una o dos veces para quitar un poco la sal. Después se van retirando cuidadosamente los huesos y espinas.

To prepare it, we must boil the fish then pass it through water once or twice to remove remaining salt. Then the bones and spines are carefully removed.

Para el guiso se pican los aliños que tengamos en nuestra despensa. En está ocasión mi esposa agregó cebolla, ají, pimentón y calabacín, de nuestra cosecha. En una sartén con aceite se sofríen los aliños. Luego se agregó el pescado desmenuzado, un poco de agua y aceite y se tapa por 10 minutos aproximadamente. Se retira del fuego y así le quedó.

For the stew, the seasonings that we have in our pantry are chopped. On this occasion my wife added onion, chili pepper, paprika and zucchini, from our harvest. In a frying pan with oil, fry the dressings. Then she added the shredded fish, a little water and oil and covered for approximately 10 minutes. She retires from the fire and here's how it looks.

Por otro lado, en esta temporada se cosecha el aguacate. En casa tenemos dos matas que ya nos dan sus nutritivos frutos y dos más que aún están pequeñas.

On the other hand, this season the avocado is harvested. At home we have two plants that already give us their nutritious fruits and two more that are still small.

La preparación de la arepa la realizó con harina de maíz amarillo, le agregó, sal y agua y luego la amasó con las manos realizando pequeños redondos y dándole su forma circular como la pueden apreciar en la fotografía.

The preparation of the arepa was made with yellow corn flour, added salt and water and then kneaded it with our hands, making small rounds and giving it its circular shape as you can see in the photograph.
