Hi dear friends,

En esta ocasión le mostrare el trabajo que hacemos en las Montañas de la Rinconada de Charallave (Carúpano-Estado Sucre-Venezuela) cerca de la comunidad donde vivo, donde nos disponemos a cosechar yuca y batatas para nuestra familia.

On this occasion I will show you the work we do in the Mountains of the Rinconada de Charallave (Carúpano-Sucre State-Venezuela) near the community where I live, where we prepare to harvest cassava and sweet potatoes for our family.

Trabajo en este conuco junto a mi vecino José Ramón Aguado y mis hijos Edgar y Adrián. Es un arduo trabajo que nos genera muchos beneficios, además ayudamos con la siembra a nuestra capa de ozono que tanto nos necesita y colaboramos con el sustento del hogar.

I work in this farm with my neighbor, José Ramón Aguado, and my children Edgar and Adrián. It is a hard work that generates many benefits for us, we also help with the sowing of our ozone layer that needs us so much and we collaborate with the sustenance of the home.

En este mes de mayo casualmente cumplo 3 años trabajando en esta montaña sembrando, limpiando y cosechando diferentes rubros como: lechosa, berenjenas, maíz, frijol, caraotas, calabacín, ají, pimentón, ahuyamas, maní, yuca y batatas. Es gratificante poder traer estos alimentos a la mesa. Estamos pensado sembrar pepinos y melón otra vez pues no se nos dio en la cosecha anterior.

I have been working on this mountain for 3 years, sowing, cleaning and harvesting different crops such as: papaya, egg plants, corn, black-eyed peas, black beans, zucchini, chili, paprika, squash, peanuts, cassava and sweet potatoes. It is gratifying to be able to bring these foods to the table. We are planning to sow cucumbers and melon again because we lost the previous harvest.

El trabajo de la agricultura es duro y en estas colinas es aún más difícil por su inclinación pero cuando se hace con amor y empeño todo se puede lograr.

Farming work is hard and in these hills it is even more difficult because of its inclination but when it is done with love and determination, everything can be achieved.

Desde estas colinas podemos apreciar el bello paisaje de mi pueblo Carúpano, mi tierra natal lugar del que me siento muy orgullo.

From these hills we can appreciate the beautiful landscape of my town Carúpano, my homeland, a place of which I feel very proud.

Fue un día maravilloso que a pesar de las energías gastadas para extraer la yuca y la batata, lo disfrutamos mucho, apreciamos el paisaje, disfrutamos el trinar de las aves y la tranquilidad de la natura, además de respirar aire puro.

It was a wonderful day that despite the exhaustion to harvest the casava and sweet potato, we enjoyed it a lot, we appreciated the landscape, we enjoyed the chirping of the birds and the tranquility of nature, as well as breathing fresh air.

A day to harvest cassava and sweet potatoes for home.
