Where Do We Buy Money?

Today being again Friday we have to talk about the market and shopping. I will try something new, to bring into discussion something that I will abandon very quickly.

A very simple question with an even simpler answer. What do we need to buy everything we need in our lives? Money, of course!

I remembered this question when I walked through the center of the city where I live, Bucharest, and I arrived in front of the National Bank of Romania.

The National Bank of Romania was founded in 1880, being the fifteenth national bank in the world. Impressive for a small country.

A very beautiful building, I really like it. Do you know what is being done in this building? This is where the money is printed! Money are a means and an end.
And a must if we go shopping! Today, however, I don't go shopping much, more for walking. This will be discussed in today's blog dedicated to #MarketFriday and @dswigle, the host and moderator.

The National Bank building is located in the so-called Old Center, an area of the city where there are many buildings in the old city, built more than a hundred years ago. In this part of the city was the commercial area with shops, markets, inns and pubs.

When the pavement in front of the bank was repaired, cellars and tunnels and warehouses of the old shops were discovered. Some were protected with glass and allowed to be seen by passers-by.

A bank is rich, it has money, especially if it prints them. It had enough money to renovate the building.

Very close to this place are a few more banks. There are two interesting ones (I mean buildings), a very old one ...

... and a modern one, concrete and glass!

Enough about money, other people's money! Especially since I worked for 15 years in a bank and counted tons of money ... other people's money.

Even if we didn't go out with the intention of shopping, we can't pass by the windows with indifference. That can never happen.

If it weren't for Friday, this post would have suited very well with Beautiful Sunday. Because in the afternoon I was visited by friends. Our old friends, lifelong friends.

Hugs, gifts ... the joy of reunion!

You're probably wondering why I'm telling you about my friends when I should be talking about shopping and food. There is a connection. Except for my wife, the rest of us all eat fish. We like the sea and we eat fish. That's the connection.

I cooked for my friends. In such meetings the simplest is to make a barbecue.

Making a barbecue is not too complicated. Cleaning fish can be more complicated.

If I mentioned fish, I'm thinking of playing a song. I like music and I'm thinking of putting a song in as many blogs as possible. Generally old (like me) and maybe unknown to many of you. I like to choose a song that has to do with what's going on there. Now I make an exception and the song has nothing to do with the subject ... only the singer, his name, has to do!

Fish - Kayleigh

Fish, former Marillion soloist. A big voice.

Waiting for the fish!

We love Greece too. Because of this the fish had to be Greek. To remind us of the beautiful holidays. This year covid-19 prevents us from going to Greece. We remain to enjoy the memories.

The ending can only be a flower, #alwaysaflower by the same @dswigle.

Anyone who knows Denise knows that she likes eclectic posts. That's how she likes to write. If Denise's style is eclectic I could say about my style that it's ... connected! I like connections and to have a connection between different actions and stories. I hope I succeeded.
