Changing the insole of a pair of slippers

Hello everyone. Today I'll be showing you guys how I changed the insole of my cousin @k-banti's slippers. Yesterday he told me that the insole of his slippers was peeling.

When I saw it, I realized the leather that was used was fake, so I volunteered to help him change it.

The materials I used

  • maco (1 pair)
  • leather ( 2 sqr ft)
  • gum

Equipment and tools

  • filing machine
  • hammer
  • scissors
  • punch
  • silver pen
  • cutting knife
  • gum brush

So the first thing I did was to remove the old leather that was on it.

Then I traced the sole shape unto the maco and cut it out

After that I traced the shape of the maco on the leather

Then I applied gum to one face of the maco and the part of the leather I sketched.

I waited for it to dry then I joined them together and beat it gently with a hammer

Then I cut it out

I then placed the former leather on the new one and mark out where all the holes would go

After that I used the punch to drill holes and the cutter to cut the slits for the straps

Then I put in the straps, lasted it (set the straps) and used gum to hold it

After that I applied gum to both the sole and the new insole

Then I put them together and used the filing machine to smoothen the edges

And that's it. @k-banti really liked it and I'm glad I could be of help to him.
