Something that I love about the Andean cities is that from many of them it is possible to see the imposing snow-capped peaks that are distributed throughout the mountain range throughout South America.
I took these photos of the Cotopaxi volcano from the busy viewpoint of "El panecillo", one of the highest places in the city of Quito, where it is possible to have a very good panoramic view of the city.
I was impressed by how close the volcano is from the city, and how imposing the glacier massif that crowns it ... as well as how close the planes fly by.
Just heard that curiously this geographical feature increases the level of difficulty of landings at Quito's international airport.
In favor of the experience, the spectacular and unique view of the volcano from the plane.

Cotopaxi visto desde la ciudad de Quito.
Algo que me encanta de las ciudades andinas es que desde muchas de ellas es posible divisar las imponentes cumbres nevadas que se distribuyen por toda la cordillera a lo largo de suramérica.
Hice estas fotos del volcán Cotopaxi desde el concurrido mirador de “El panecillo”, uno de los sitios más altos de la ciudad de Quito, donde es posible tener una muy buena panorámica de la ciudad.
Me impresionó lo cercano que se ve el volcán desde la ciudad, y lo imponente del macizo glaciar que lo corona... además de lo cerca que pasan los aviones.
Justo escuche que curiosamente esta característica geográfica aumenta el nivel de dificultad de los aterrizajes en el aeropuerto internacional de Quito.
A favor de la experiencia, la espectacular y única vista hacia el volcán desde el avión.
