El propósito es que se expanda y llegue hasta la mayor cantidad de mujeres en el mundo. La iniciativa consiste en recaudar toda la información que nos sea posible acerca del Cáncer de Mama; datos importantes, campañas locales y nacionales, charlas programadas, jornadas médicas, organizaciones donde acudir en todos los países, caminatas, actividades, cuanto material nos sirva para transmitir un mensaje positivo que incentive a cada mujer a realizarse su examen preventivo a tiempo.
The purpose is for it to expand and reach the largest number of women in the world. The initiative consists of collecting as much information as possible about Breast Cancer; important data, local and national campaigns, scheduled talks, medical conferences, organizations where to go in all countries, walks, activities, whatever material helps us to transmit a positive message that encourages each woman to undergo her preventive examination on time.
Invita a todas las mujeres que conozcas en #Hive, y también a los hombres, porque en la vida de cada uno de ellos hay una mujer que debe y necesita conocer esta información.

🌸 OCTUBRE ROSA // OCTOBER PINK 🌸
Octubre es el mes para concientizar sobre el cáncer de mama y la campaña inicia desde el primer día. La campaña recibe el nombre de Octubre Rosa y se realiza todos los años durante este mes con el fin de crear conciencia acerca de la importancia que tienen el autoexamen y el examen de mamas como principales medidas para prevenir el cáncer.
October is the month to raise awareness about breast cancer and the campaign starts from day one. The campaign is called Pink October and is carried out every year during this month in order to raise awareness about the importance of self-examination and breast examination as the main measures to prevent cancer.
Esta campaña usa una cinta rosada como símbolo para destacarse a nivel mundial, y en la actualidad se encuentra activa en más de 70 países.
This campaign uses a pink ribbon as a symbol to stand out globally, and is currently active in more than 70 countries.
Mi espacio en Hive se une a la campaña “Octubre Rosa”, con el fin de incentivar a todas las mujeres a realizar su autoexamen periódicamente, y la mamografía a partir de los 40 años de edad. En caso de contar con antecedentes familiares de cáncer de mama, realizar la consulta de forma más temprana, a partir de los 30 años.
My space at Hive joins the "Pink October" campaign, in order to encourage all women to perform their self-exam periodically, and mammography from 40 years of age. If you have a family history of breast cancer, make the consultation earlier, from the age of 30.
🌸 CÁNCER DE MAMA // BREAST CANCER 🌸
El cáncer de mama es el crecimiento desenfrenado de células malignas en el tejido mamario. Existen dos tipos principales de cáncer de mama, el carcinoma ductal (el más frecuente), que comienza en los conductos que llevan leche desde la mama hasta el pezón, y el carcinoma lobulillar que comienza en partes de las mamas, llamadas lobulillos, que producen la leche materna.
Breast cancer is the rampant growth of malignant cells in breast tissue. There are two main types of breast cancer, ductal carcinoma (the most common), which begins in the ducts that carry milk from the breast to the nipple, and lobular carcinoma that begins in parts of the breasts, called lobules, that produce breast milk.
Los principales factores de riesgo de contraer cáncer de mama incluyen una edad avanzada, la primera menstruación a temprana edad, edad avanzada en el momento del primer parto o nunca haber dado a luz, antecedentes familiares de cáncer de mama, el tomar hormonas tales como estrógeno y progesterona, el consumir licor y ser de raza blanca. Entre 5 a 10% de los casos, el cáncer de mama es causado por mutaciones genéticas heredadas.
The main risk factors for breast cancer include older age, early first menstruation, older age at the time of first delivery or never having given birth, family history of breast cancer, taking hormones such as estrogen and progesterone, drinking and being white. In 5-10% of cases, breast cancer is caused by inherited genetic mutations.

𝗧𝗢́𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗘, es una campaña que lleva más de 20 años en Venezuela, y que rompió el tabú de hablar sobre el cáncer de mama, como lo afirma la presentadora venezolana, Viviana Gibelli.
𝗧𝗢́𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗘, is a campaign that has been in Venezuela for more than 20 years, and that broke the taboo of talking about breast cancer, as affirmed by the Venezuelan presenter, Viviana Gibelli.
"Hace 20 años, a raíz del cáncer de mama de mi querida Tania Sarabia con quién hacía “Viviana a la medianoche”, comencé mi trabajo voluntario para concientizar a las mujeres y hombres sobre esta enfermedad y lo importante que era detectarla a tiempo. 𝗧𝗢́𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗘 fue la campaña que 𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗜𝗢́ 𝗘𝗟 𝗧𝗔𝗕𝗨́ de hablar sobre el cáncer de mama.
"20 years ago, as a result of the breast cancer of my dear Tania Sarabia with whom I was doing“ Viviana a la midnight ”, I began my volunteer work to raise awareness among women and men about this disease and how important it was to detect it early. 𝗧𝗢́𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗘 It was the campaign that 𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗜𝗢́ 𝗘𝗟 𝗧𝗔𝗕𝗨́ talk about breast cancer.
Ha sido el trabajo que más satisfacciones me ha dado. Trabajar con la Sociedad Anticancerosa de Venezuela y hasta el sol de hoy con @senosayuda me hace valorar y entender mejor el poder que tenemos cuando levantamos nuestra voz para el bien. Hoy, mi gran amiga Tania sigue sana y continua al igual que yo como voluntaria creando conciencia, recogiendo fondos y hablando "sin tapujos" sobre la importancia de cuidarnos, hacernos el chequeo anual y tocar nuestros senos, porque ellos nos dan señales.
It has been the job that has given me the most satisfaction. Working with the Anti-Cancer Society of Venezuela and until the sun today with @senosayuda makes me value and better understand the power we have when we raise our voice for good. Today, my great friend Tania is still healthy and continues as I am as a volunteer raising awareness, raising funds and speaking "openly" about the importance of taking care of ourselves, getting the annual check-up and touching our breasts, because they give us signals.

1) ¿Qué es SenosAyuda?
Es una Organización de Desarrollo Social sin fines de lucro que se encarga de concientizar sobre la importancia de la detección temprana del cáncer de mama.
2) ¿Quién la creó?
Fue creada por Bolivia Bocaranda, Beatriz Ottengo e Ingrid Borges, sobrevivientes del cáncer de mama, junto a un grupo de voluntarias.
3) ¿Cuándo inició?
Desde 1999.
4) ¿Cuál es su finalidad?
Atender necesidades de mujeres y familiares afectados, y concientizar y educar sobre la importancia de la detección temprana del cáncer de mama.
5) Importancia del autoexamen y cómo hacerlo.
El autoexamen es un importante aliado para la detección temprana del cáncer de mama. Aquí te explicamos cómo hacerlo.
Tanto mujeres como hombres deben practicarlo como parte de su rutina. Ellas, una vez al mes, y ellos, una vez cada tres meses.
Si notas alguna irregularidad debes acudir al médico a la brevedad posible.
6) Su labor y colaboradores
A lo largo de 15 años, SenosAyuda ha beneficiado a 263.018 personas a través de charlas educativas, banco de pelucas, prótesis y sostenes, atención médica y psicológica a pacientes diagnosticados, exámenes de detección y medicamentos.
Esto ha sido posible gracias a la colaboración de aliados que año tras año dan su aporte a la organización. Hoy queremos darle oficialmente la bienvenida a los #Aliados2021 e invitarlos a que a través de ellos se unan a la campaña de recaudación de este mes.

La Sociedad Venezolana de Mastología, al respecto del mes rosa y del Día Internacional de la Lucha contra el Cáncer de Mama, estará llevando a cabo una actividad virtual sobre el Cáncer de Mama, la nutrición, la sexualidad, la mamografía, y la relación entre estos.

🌸 OCTUBRE ROSA 2019 EN EL TIGRE 🌸
Hace 2 años, antes de la pandemia, se realizó en la ciudad de El Tigre la última caminata rosada en apoyo a la lucha contra el cáncer de mama patrocinada por la Policlínica del Sur. Durante esos días se realizaron charlas en varios lugares con información e instrucción adecuada sobre el autoexamen, la mamografía, y demás datos relevantes acerca del tema. También escuchamos testimonios de personas sobrevivientes de cáncer y luchadoras de esta enfermedad que incentivaron a los presentes a tomar las debidas precauciones.
Two years ago, before the pandemic, the last pink walk in support of the fight against breast cancer sponsored by the South Polyclinic was held in the city of El Tigre. During those days, talks were held in various places with information and adequate instruction on self-examination, mammography, and other relevant information on the subject. We also heard testimonies from cancer survivors and fighters of this disease who encouraged those present to take due precautions.
